 Hello

I am staying at the Mandalay Resort and well I need to know what gyms would be close to that Hotel. I was going to take off but I love the gym too much!!!! I like feeling pumped and also i love the sweat. :sprite10:

I was looking at 24 hour fitness. Mostly because it is 24 hours which is nice. So if you guys have some suggestions I like to hear it! :no pity:

Jump in a cab and hit the Gold's on Flamingo. It will be well worth the couple of bucks and you'll have a great atmosphere there.

I would think Mandalay Resort has a pretty sweet fitness room. I stayed at the Mirage once, and they have a fitness room there that is almost like a full-service gym!

Golds off Sahara Isabelle... thats where Steve does his shoots. I was there last year and it was a nice gym. Not off the strip, but not expensive for cab. We'll be going there.

thank you Mike! I am just curious on the cab fare. AS that is my only way of transportation and of course I can walk(if it isn't a LONG distance).I need to get all the cardio I can :big grin

I would agree with that choice. That gym is really spacious, great atmosphere, and a lot of great equipment.

Hey Isabelle,

I believe Howard is taking Darrell Terrell and myself to the Gold's off of Sahara. D.T. is getting ready for Nationals and I cannot afford to lay off for one millisecond during this trip out to Vegas...6 cardios, 3 workouts, dieting, and running back and forth to the show for our figure girl is gonna make my stay EVENTFUL to say the least. See ya there maybe!

Ahh, finally what comes around goes around... My 2 cents worth, stay FAR away from the Las Vegas Athletic Club.

Gold's on Sahara is great, but not in the day time. It's hot and there are no fans. It's definitely NOT walking distance in the Vegas heat. You'll have a heart attack! With Vegas traffic, it can be a $15.00 cab ride. Be sure to go when it's not rush hour.

Have fun everyone - be sure to keep us up to date on everything!

Ahhh you guys are awesome thank you for the good information. I got my golds traveler pass, I just need to know kinda what a cab fare can cost. Now here is the other kicker i heard its hard to find a cab back. Is this really true?

i know it is a day later, but there is a 24 hr fitness on Tropicana which is about 2.5 west of Mandalay Bay, and there is also one in the McCarron Airport area, about 4 miles away.
adresses:
5035 West Tropicana Ave
Las Vegas, NV 89103

5757 Wayne Newton Blvd
Las Vegas, NV 89119

the one on trop is the easiest to get to, just go to Tropicana and go west, if im not mistaken it is on the south side of the road.

It shouldn't be that hard to get a cab back to the strip. You can have the front desk call you a cab, and you might only wait about 10-15 minutes. When I was there last year we wound up sharing the cab with someone back to the strip and it cut the fare in half. The Gold's staff is very accomodating.

if you want...you can walk several blocks for a lil extra cardio to catch the bus back to the strip...that worked for me last year. ;)
