I just wanted to share some of recent stuff with my fellow fans. My July highlights were trips to BodyRock and the NPC Masters.

On to the Masters. It was a very productive trip to Pittsburgh, only to be spoiled when I couldn't find one of my memory cards, most of my first day's shoots gone with it. Oh well.

It's too bad that Deb Widdis left, she was always such a strong competitor. Don't even get me started on the shot of Michelle Brent. Just when you think she can't get any better, BAM, she comes along and raises the bar. This woman is unstoppable. Michelle I know that your around these boards, I just wanted to say thank you for being UNSTOPPABLE.I'd take a picture of her, rest of the day would be just gravy. ;^)

There was something I noticed when looking through them however, is it me, or are Figure competitors getting more muscular?
Both Lisa and Kim have physiques that wouldn't look out of place in a lightweight bodybuilding contest! :cool:

Shouldn't be a surprise if they are. All things are cyclical. The figure competitors began by looking like the females did when female competition began, with Rachel McLish, etc. Gradually they became more muscular over the years. The exact same thing will occur. Because of competing with one another and the undying hunger to always win, muscular frames witll keep getting larger and larger until things are just like they were a few years ago and it will all start over again. Hence the problem, one of them, with always comparing oneself to others. Gotta keep up or be left behind.

Those who thought a Figure Class would solve the "over muscularity" of the females was crazy. It just starts things over again. Surprise? No way!

She was in Pittsburgh to support Ali Houston, a remarkable college age powerlifter and figure beauty; Gene got some great pics of her (but she looked better just walking around the lobby in her two-piece). Of course Michelle is incredible. I was happy for Debbie to win her class, but no one could match Michelle's details and completeness, I'm surprised the score wasn't closer.

Thanks, Tom. Elena looks like my fav out of these! It's always a pleasure to see Elena, and her photos are always worth looking at. She was just a smidge too off season to show off her legs and abs and her strongwoman training left her bruised and scarred, but she still cleans up nice.

Both Lisa and Kim have physiques that wouldn't look out of place in a lightweight bodybuilding contest! As Doug just posted, the more muscular figure ladies have creeped up in size to where they look like 80s era FBBs. NPC judges are trying to reverse that trend this year. In my shoots I try to stress the muscularity of the girls, but on stage the same woman can pose differently and the judges will never know about those nice biceps. Lisa does have a muscular build and especially nice legs, I was happy to hear she did well at BodyRock but I wonder how she will fare on the national level.

Especially that of Dena, Gerri, Ann, Colette, Michelle and Vicki who are to me, are at the peak of perfection. And if this is Good enough, then I can't wait to see which contests would you have on your agenda.

I'm wondering if you're going to be taking photos at either the North Americans, IFBB Worlds or the NPC Nationals? I know that I'll be attending the North Americans in September. Other than that Tom don't stop what you're doing because it works period.:)

I'm planning to be at the Europa (coming up fast!), the North Americans, the Olympia, and the Nationals in Miami. I hope we can meet up in Cleveland.

Hopefully I'll get follow-on shoots with most of the ladies you mentioned as favorites, plus some new faces.

Hey Tom, that's cool if you're going to be attending the North Americans. Then it's automatically safe to assume that you're going to be on the continent during the rest of the Competitive Season instead of the IFBB Worlds.

Beyond that I know that you'll going to have a ball over at the Europa As well as the Olympia for the pros as well as Nationals. And I hope that the Ladies do very well in the upcoming contests and qualify for the bigger shows.

Hopefully the FBB's & Fitness Women would get somemore contests like the GNC Show of Strength, The Jan Tana, as well as The Charlotte Pro Show to be added to the roster of Olympia Qualifers next year then that will be terrific.

Plus a lot of the Pro FBB's need to step up to the plate and start competing in these contests because what's the use of having that pro card if they're not even going to compete in pro contests than it's a waist of their time.

But like I said I hope more Women would step up and compete in the pro contests to help keep the sport in a posititive direction.:)
