View Full Version : Canadian Figure Bombshell J-me Hannay

I attended the 2006 Canadian Figure championships in Edmonton and was utterly blown away by the blond-bombshell - J-me Hannay - from Team Alberta. Not only is she drop-dead gorgeous...but her smile is so infectious.
I don't think she stopped smiling once! Beautiful, million-dollar smile!

My buddies and I became instant fans. We got our picture with her at the end of the show...and she was so professional and gracious. A great ambassador for the sport - no doubt.
Does anyone know if she has a website?

Surprisingly, she only placed 5th in the Medium-Tall category. I don't understand the judging criteria because her back and v-taper were unbeatable. And her abs...were shredded! Can someone please explain to me how the judges pick the top three???? Sorry Ladies, but I am a new fan to the sport and not quite sure how the scoring works. Thanx for your help!

Sincerely,

Guillaume

Here's a picture of Jme, from hardfitness.com's free contest shots:

How is her named pronounced? What is her ancestry, I wonder?

Thanks for the link to hardfitness.com. Had no idea the site existed.
J-me is smokin' HOT! Guys...check out her abs in the purple bikini. Phenomenal. They look like chicklets.

Still haven't found a website for her. But I heard she has posed for
"King" magazine and been in a couple of music videos. I think she is scandinavian. Her hair is crazy snow-white. She is seriously sick looking!

Cheers,

Guillaume

Attention Guys;
I found some great modeling pics of Alberta's knockout J-me Hannay. Her pics are on twix.pix.com and she has also been in Playboy. My buddies said she has been in a couple swollen members videos. WOW!
I heard she is a competitive wakeboarder. can anyone confirm this? i'd like to know if she has a website.
question for the lady competitors. are the judges going to change their criteria for next year. some of the fitness and figure girls were the size of female bodybuilders.scary.
in need of clarification,

Larry, thanks for the info on J-me Hannay. i haven't found a website for her either. She is a brand new Figure competitor - that's probably why. I don't think she has ever competed before. nationals was her first show. I only recognized her from Playboy. She is a former playmate. i heard she is an American so we can expect her on the US Pro stage very soon! she has the right look for the states - the total package for figure. Like davana medina and jane awad. Soft, but muscular with a gorgeous face! thanx again.

The person to talk to is Dave Ford. If he has not shot her, he probably knows of her.

She is probably a Canadian living in the States. If you are a Canadian living in the States, you have to compete in the CBBF. If you are an American living in Canada (and there are lots), you have to compete in the NPC.

Here is some trivial for you. one of the word's first fitness competitors was a former Playmate centrefold from BC, named Morgan Fox.

Thanks Larry for providing a reference point. Unfortunately, David Ford does not have any pictures of J-me Hannay on his website. Given how marketable her look is...this surprised me. Her face is stunning and her smile is so
eye-catching. She "literally" had the most fans at Nationals(particularly male) and the Edmonton Oilers were cheering for her. there was a huge, crazed bald guy in the audience who was screaming aloud about how "sexy" she was. pretty funny to see as a guy.

Being an Alberta photographer, I thought David ford would promote athletes from his own province. But he seems to feature other girls instead
(many who have a very "hard" look).

i don't know if this is his decision making or his reporter, Asha Mennone. There is virutally nothing about any of the other Alberta figure athletes that placed in the top five at Nationals (i.e. J-me Hannay, Lisa Latterly,
Kyla Kennedy). there seems to exist an obvious bias. these three women did an amazing job for our province at Nationals and deserve respect as athletes AND recognition.

this is frustrating as a fan and supporter of bodybuilding, figure, and fitness.

thanks again larry.

Dave travels out to BC to shoot fitness models on a regular basis and
I know that Dave would love to be able to photograph more Alberta athletes. However, there are certain things that Dave can do in BC which he can not do in Alberta. The main thing is that it is perfectly legal in BC to shoot models at beaches in bikinis. In Alberta that is not the case. He has been busted on a number of occasions for shooting swimwear. Another factor is whether or not an athlete remains in good shape all year. Some do and some don't. The models that stay in shape all year get the print work and the acting jobs.

I have shot a couple of Alberta athletes out in BC who travelled to Vancouver for the same reason why Dave does. The reasons for the trips were that they could get some photos taken which could not be taken in Alberta.

Also just for your info, at the Canadian Nationals, the hotel management banned photographers from shooting in the pool and outside the hotel. That caused some problems.

Thanks Larry for all the info about fitness photography in Alberta. It sounds like we need more fitness photographers in our fair province. you have alot of knowledge.

I am sure many Figure athletes do not want to be photographed on the beach like Maxim models because they are more focused on being "legitimate" athletes (not models). I just personally found some of the supposed fitness models on his website to be very "hard" in the face looking, square jaws, etc. (heavily implanted as well). very few actually have muscle like, Annette Milbers who is pretty skinny. That is why it struck me that he didn't promote the prettier figure athletes like J-me Hannay who is clearly natural and has the right balance of muscle and facial beauty.

there is obviously a reason why the canadian figure pros are not doing well in the states. they are too big and bulky, and most of them have lost alot of their femininity in their face.

hopefully some of the future canadian figure pros will be smaller and easier on the male eye so-to-speak.

Cheers,

Guillaume

If J-Me were ever to come out to BC, I would love to shoot her. Debbie Leung and Leah Berti are great to shoot as well. (I have worked with them before).

There are a couple of athletes that you might want to keep an eye on, who are very attractive and very nice. They are the Hull Twins. Michelle lives in Alberta and Lisa lives in BC. Both are natural bodybuilders and very good looking as well. I plan on working with those two in the near future and I have suggested to Lisa that she enter some of the BCABBA events. I am hoping that Michelle gets involved in the ABBA too!

Thanks for the feedback Larry. I wasn't aware that you were a photographer. There definitely seems to be a shortage of fitness photographers in Canada. Maybe you can answer this question for the viewers.

Why aren't more Canadian women featured in the fitness magazines. they rarely get covers or limited exposure. the only canadian that comes to mind is elaine goodlad. and she gets covers because of who her husband is no doubt.

that would be great if you could shoot J-me hannah. alot of people are asking about her in edmonton at my gym. i think she's an up and comer for figure. i can tell you this much. the whole university of alberta golden bears football team would REALLY appreciate it if you took some pictures of her! and i mean that in a very flattering, positive way.

thanks for all the info about the sport Larry. you obviously know the business and have been around.

There are alot of up and coming fitness models that are Canadian. A couple of good examples are Jenny Poussin and Alba Nadal. Alba made her debut in the last issue of American Curves (most of the models in this month's issue of AC are Canadian too!). Later this month she makes her debut in Playboy. I would love to shoot her for oxygen sometime. Alba has alot of friends who are national level figure competitors. I am hoping that she might step out onto the stage someday.

Jenny Poussin made her debut in the new issue of DXL. She will be in American Curves and/or Musclemag in the near future. I will see if I can post a photo of jenny and Alba which is being used for a Nutrabolics ad.

A number of magazine editors want photos of the Hull twins. Dave and myself are coordinating shoots with those two right now.

One of the photographers who shot J'Me in Edmonton was Dave Abooti (TwixPix). I will pass this thread on to him and perhaps he will forward it to J'me to let her know that she has a following of fans.

Thanx again Larry. the info you provided will help. the football team will have to make due with the pics of J-me from Nationals. we have them in our team locker room. hopefully she won't be offended if she reads this thread. i am hoping she remembers meeting all of us at the gym and realizes that we are not weird, creepy guys. just fans!!

she was really just a breath of fresh air. stunning to look at, extremely intelligent, well spoken, and professional. she knew alot about the sport and helped us dumb jocks out by explaining the difference between figure and bodybuilding.

thanks for passing along the info. she does have alot of fans in edmonton and i know alot of the players would like to see more pics of her.

i saw J-me in a music video by the swollen members a while ago. maybe she's an actress or has an agent. if she's a former playmate than i am sure her pictures will be hard to come by and will be copyrighted, etc.

us - tough guys, will just have to be patient until 2007.

cheers,

Guillaume, QC

Wow...what an amazing sight. A thread dedicated to my very very good friend of 4 years. Just to give a little insight...

1) Her name is pronounced J...me, just like it is spelt.

2) She is truely an ambassador to the sport as she is beautiful, has an amazing physique, she is incrediablly intellegent with a business degree and honours diploma in Personal Training. She works extremely hard on her body and with her clients. She is one of the best friends a girl or guy could have, with a heart of true gold. She is a wonderful thoughtful wife...crazed bald guy is her husband.

3) She has the best support network of husband, parents, sister, friends, collegues and clients from all over canada whom come out to suppport her.

4) I am 99.9% sure that she has NEVER posed for Playboy.

5) She is a Canadian, living in Canada.

6) She knows the sport beacuse she is the sport. Both her and Jeni Briscoe of Fort St. John, BC and true beauties, they are clean, hardworking athletes who take the sport very seriously. They are both personal trainers because they love to help people to reach their full potential.

7) This was her 1st nationals show and will be back, but she competed the last 2 years in provincials.

As her friend, i can say, it is nice to see threads dedicated to her, but it really was heartwrenching to see her "fans" write things like Playboy apperences. It's not that Playboy is a bad thing, but don't write it if you don't know if it is true. A true fan would find out the truth about an athlete and admire that!

I have forwarded the thread to J-Me, but I wanted to say my peace. Thanks for listening guys and please do admire her, she is an amazing person, but admire her for the truth; her dedication and her devotion, her beauty and her brains.

I hope i haven't offended anyone on here, as I know you were not trying to offend anyone that read this tread!

I am friends as well with Miss Hanna and agree with all of the previous comments regarding her beauty. She is sincerely one of THE NICEST people I've met in this sport. I got to know her a bit better backstage at this year's Nationals in Edmonton and it was very evident not only how intelligent she is, but how much she loves this sport. Watch out for this girl, she's goin places!!

My name is Tara and I am a new fitness & figure fan. I saw J'me Hanna
light up the stage at nationals. she was a crowd favorite no question. And i have to say, whether she has posed for playboy or not, does it really matter, is it relevant? she is an athlete who is blessed with VERY good looks plain and simple.

The fact remains is that she was one of the most prettiest figure girls on stage that day. she is quite stunning to look at and her huge, magnetic smile made her an instant crowd favorite. she won them over with her 'choppers'! :D

she was even laughing on stage and having a good time. which is what it is all about. i have pictures of her and they are unreal.

jeepgurl, like this guillaume fan/character, we ultimately don't even know whether or not you yourself even actually are acquainted with J'me Hanna. so keep it positive everybody and stay focused on the subject & content of the threads.

to all the figure girls, you all rock, and i wish someday i will have the courage & discipline to step on stage! you should all be proud of yourselves.

Peace & positivity :420 man:

Welcome JeepGurl;

Interesting comments JeepGurl. And assumptions. The most important point I want to make here is that this thread was dedicated to J-me Hanna and intended to be positive, full of admiration. Not ill will or untrue statements.

I have met J-me and had pictures with her at nationals with friends, as fans.
During the intermission before the night competition. Furthermore, as viewers, we REALLY don't know whether you know J-me Hanna either, like the girl Tara indicated in her thread.

I find it is interesting that you claim to know her so well. Yet, does she know you yourself are writing personal info about her on a public forum? If she was your friend, I am sure she wouldn't appreciate you telling the world about her family??????

Just as 'my threads, comments' offended you, yours offend me.

The comments about playboy are just what my guy friends have passed along to me. she does strike an amazing resemblance to one of the models. maybe it is her, maybe it isn't. that is not the important thing. the comment was intended to be a compliment. the purpose to illustrate just how gorgeous she is. not to be degrading or insulting. remember, jeepgurl, i am a fan.

you speak of 'truths' and try to promote Jeni Briscoe as clean? I was at nationals and being an MD - she was one of the biggest figure girls on stage. ?????????? enough said.

some of your comments don't even dignify a response jeepgurl.

there is a huge difference between untrue statements and being misinformed.

but like tara said. this site was originally designed to flatter j-me hanna not degrade her in any way. i hope she does receive all of the threads, reads them, then responds. She and ONLY SHE will be able to comment truthfully about how she feels and who is really is.

I am done with the rant and negativity now.

keep trainin' figure gals, women with muscles is a good thing.
cheers,
guillaume
