What is the deal with the promoters that they don't feature the previous year's female bodybuilding winner on the poster (http://www.nationalbodybuilding.com/home.htm) and promotional materials? This is one third of the event and it just doesn't make sense :wtf:
Mimi Jabalee is an attractive woman with feminine lines and her image would enhance the poster. I don't get it. :headscrat

I know Robin.... Mimi and I saw this a month or so back. She was very disappointed when she saw this. Especially with the picture they used. She was completely cut out of the picture.... Very sad. :(

Pretty damn underhanded. If they didn't want to use her image on the poster ... they should've not wasted Mimi's time for the photoshoot.
Does she appear on any of the promotional literature ... other posters ... online ... something else?

Wow....what is this saying? Can we contact Pam Betz or another promoter? Does anyone know who any of the other promoters are?
Is it useless to contact our IFBB Female Representative about this because of her not even having a FBB on her own show advertisement?
Sad....very sad...

I think Pam is a fantastic promoter and she has always been extremely nice to me. I've always enjoyed visiting her at any of the events she promotes or assists. I don't know if the decision not to feature female bodybuilding on the poster is a personal choice or an edict from the National office, but perhaps making one's opinion known may help to change things around.
Pam answers her email promptly.
dalberton, if you go to the website http://www.nationalbodybuilding.com/gallery.htm this page is a gallery featuring some past winners, but Mimi is not among them. Perhaps that will change and others will be added...

this in NO WAY makes up for Mimi not being there but it was interesting that they picked the male bber and the fitness winner...I'm so used to seeing promoters use figure that I was surprised to see finess get a shoutout...
the promoters here cheat...they don't use anyone on their posters except maybe the guest poser...that way no one gets recognition but no one gets overlooked either...

They don't have a figure competition at Nationals - just fitness and BB - so I think they should have put all three of the winners on there, if they were going to put any of them at all!

If that's true......then why is a figure champion on the poster.
Now I really am starting to believe these NPC people are on drugs...... :stupid:
Either that.....or they still care about trying to be marketing moguls more than they do about being fair to athletes.

Heidi Fletcher was the overall fitness champion at last year's Nationals. The National Figure Championships was held on July 15 as part of Team U. No figure at all at the Nationals in Miami - just fitness and BB.

Figure and male bodybuilder was on our State Contest flyer/posters this year, too. I guess it's just a trend.

Sucks how they do that alot now. Not a very good layout for 3 people, but they could have found a way to make it work. Then again gota get all those sponsor tags in there. Gota get that money. Love how it's more about money then doing the right thing.

I want to see more Mimi as well. I'll contact Pam Betz and express my disappointment.

If I was the person who designed the poster, I would definetly have a picture of the beautiful Mimi on it! :carrot:

wasn't Gina on the one for last year?
no figure this year? well that's fine b/c they give out so many pro cards at other events...man it's so difficult for a female to turn pro in bbing or even fitness now! oy-vey!

This sucks. Great job Robin for spotting this and bringing it to our attention.
Robin, want to do another re-design like you did with the Europa poster? ;)

it's because the Team U is the 'Figure National championships' i believe and it's not ever been at the Nationals with bbing and fitness....and i agree that if the show has fbbin, then one needs to be on the poster. IFBB always include the previous years winners for the O and the Arnold.

I'm so busy playing catch-up on all the things I've neglected over the past few weeks, I just don't have time. Perhaps some other Photoshop user may be motivated...

BB'ing is strange to me. It's the only sport that ignores part of itself. Granted there's always press about teams that are'nt doing well but c'mon don't ignore it. It wouldn't have cost them anything more to have added Mimi, and they would have appealed to us as the audience. Sometimes this industry doesn't make sense.
