I don't think Pia has too much muscle at all. She looks fantastic and it's just that the judges aren't used to seeing her on stage so they just seem to ignore her for now... She'll get the recognition she deserves! :)

In my eye's Pia, it looks like your on the money. Over time stage presence will build. Remember, good things comes to those who wait. Great job on your conditioning too! You'll never need to get any harder than that on stage....

I'm almost with Michelle here. It's not that Pia has too much muscle but that she is a "tad bit" too lean with that level of muscle for a Figure competitor in this day and age IMO. So she either tones the diet down or she moves over to BB which is where I would like to see her :D

Hi Guys !
At Cal they told me that I was very much too lean, so I didn't cut water at all at Toronto, and I almost anything I wanted the week before Toronto, trying too smooth a little. I was a little bit softer in Toronto, and fuller in my muscles, because of all the carbs and food I ate. I got some things to work on the next two months before New York. So I just hope my strives will pay off in the end....
Big smile to you Gene, looking forward to the photo shoot ! :)

All I know is that you looked improved in Toronto and you already look amazing so I can't wait to see how you continue to polish your stage presentation Pia!
And of course I can't wait to shoot either!

Gene...thanks for writing what's in my head. I think Pia looks FANTASTIC!! I'm glad I'm not a judge. Continue to set your own course Pia...obviously the judging is a moving target!

Pia, although you look phenominal, I think you still need to be a tad softer for figure. You are such a beautiful lady with a great physique. I would also recommend you try darker suits next time around. The judges always prefer darker color suits and with your skin tone and hair color it would make a big difference.:)

Pia - You have to forgive these N. American judges for they have not seen a GODDESS onstage since the days of Anja Langer, and they never knew how to judge her either. Hopefully someone took lots of photos of the Toronto Pro - if so, I'll take a look at them and give you my impressions, if you'd like.
The ultimate solution is simple, though - move in with me and I'll make sure that you get all the junk food you can handle so that you're nice and smooth by your next show. :D

I'm definitly going for a dark suit next time, wich is the New York Show. And it seems like I have to go softer as well... even tough I really don't agree with that.... :D In my opinion you should be able to be in really good condition and still look very feminine. It's the condition and the muscles of the girls that separates this from a "bikini contest"...

Pia, I couldn't agree more. However I have heard countless times from the judges that they are looking for a softer look, nothing too lean and dry. IMO, how you come in all depends on what you are looking to achieve from competing. If you compete for yourself and what you like, what makes you feel proud and to get some exposure then show up as tight and lean as you like. However, if you are competing to win or place higher, I would recommend listening to what the judges are asking for. :)
Now if I could just figure out how to get as lean and dry as you, I would be one happy lady!
I will end this with I was at the Cal and saw you at the Golds Venice right before and was very impressed by your physique. You are a beautiful woman and you nailed the conditioning in my opinion. Now go eat a twinkie! ;)

Pia I have to agree with Michelle on this one. The Ifbb want asofter look .Not too soft though. There is a fine line and you have to find it. I know because they told me at the Pittsburgh Pro. I have very deep splits in my legs like you do, and they said if I didn't tighten them as much onstage than I would have done better. But let me also remind you, every show they are looking for a different package. Sometimes they go for hard and sometimes they go for soft. I actually prefer your look from the Toronto show. You looked great. I saw that your hair was down in the one piece round. Judges have told me that long hair makes figure women look more feminine. Thats why you see all of us girls with long hair and maybe even extensions.
Are you doing the Tournament of Champions in September, or the Sacramento Pro?
I will be competing and I would love to meet you.
Well best of luck in New York, I am sure you will look amazing. Don't be suprised if Davana shows up. She has for the past 2 years. Keep up the great work.

Well, there goes sublty out the window.. ;) I was hoping the "never need to get any harder than that" was sufficient. :)
No need to repeat the great advice Rhonda and the Michelle already gave you. They nailed it....
You definitely improved in Toronto. I'm happy to hear you'll be coming to NY next. Anyone else planning on visiting?

I have judged for over 10years in the NPC, and can tell you the judging is a moving target just like you said, I go out of my mind tabulating the scores as I can see some events where the judging consistency is in the 85%tile range and others where it is below 65%. Decent inter-judging accuracy needs to be at least in the mid eightes to even be worth any analysis of the compers. It is easy to see Mia will get there, she has such great structure and balance. I bet her shoulder to waist ratio matches theDivine Proportion (http://www.summum.us/philosophy/phi.shtml) of 1:1.618. There have been more than one Fit. Fig. comper that has needed to GASP.. lose muscle mass and come in smoother but I don't think changing anything should be undertaken until she hits a bunch of events and is more familiar to the judges. Keep doin what your doing.

I dunno. Winning is nice, but the IFBB doesn't pay enough to warrant jumping through too many hoops. Pia - if you want to continue looking *your* best, I say you should go for it.
Oops - did I say that out loud? Silly me.
