Being that the OTHER NATIONALS thread is all about controversy over PAST SHOWS...I figured I would start a new thread where we can actually discuss THIS YEARS NATIONALS!

I am looking forward to it as so many of you are! I know its going to be a big show and a great show! Miami provides a nice venue as we all know from 3 years ago when Annie Riveccio won the overall.

I will be competing as LHW as well as bringing one of my girls I train to do Fitness and that is Jess Rohm. She won the Jr Nationals last year and I am excited to see how she fairs in Miami!

:)

Those that I know are competing....
ME
Debi Lazewski
Angie Salvango
Christy Hawkins???
Britt Miller

I was wondering if Yamile Marrero, the hometown girl from Miami Beach who finshed 5th Heavyweight in 2003 and 2nd Heavyweight to Sherry Smith in the 2004 NPC USA's is going to enter this year and try it again as a Heavyweight. Last year she went for Light Heavyweight and finished Ninth where she was taller than everybody and looked a little depleted in the upper body but with still great legs and poses. Elena, do you know Yamile?

I definitely agree with the spirit of Chris Brown from Detroit and the great Elena Seiple, this place is all about positivity and wishing the competitors success because for the most part once they get on that Nationals stage to posedown and compete, they are ALL champions!

I do not know Yamile personally but I have seen her compete many times and she appears to be a good person from what I see of her backstage. She has always been in a different class than me so I have not been able to interact with her. I like her stage presence.

Way to go Elena! That was beyond nuts! I am so excited to get to go to Miami, I have lots of friends and my hubby going and i have never been to South Beach. We are all staying a few extra days to have some fun in the sun and to let me talk myself back into getting back on a plane. Ya'll have no idea how much I HATE to fly and how much I wanted to wait til next year when it is here in Dallas again!! I also can't wait to see some friends at the show who I have not seen in a while. Sheliahe Brown will be battling it out as a HW again this year as well.
See ya'll soon!!! Less than 8 weeks to go!

Good luck to everyone, now it is time to turn our attention to the biggest amateur show of the year. I'm glad October is a bit slower contest wise, there'll be quite a build up to Miami - can't wait!

Jody MayThanks Elena you have my utmost respect. I've been gone over the weekend to attend the North Americans just to find out when I returned home to see some unescessary drama (especially the Hating & Trash Talking) unfolding over there just like the 2005 USAs & Charlotte Pro Show threads. I hate it when that crap happens when I start a thread, that certain individuals have to put down folks & name calling.

Now let's go ahead and move forward since the 2006 USAs, The Canadian Nationals and the North Americans are history.

And Elena, again I'm with you 100% let's keep this thread positive and away with the negative controversy & bull crap because what's in the past, stays in the past and this is a dawn of a new day and let's move forward. Much Love, Props and Respect to you always from your "Motor City" fan. Peace.:)

All we did was say why we thought Debi should have won the LHW class. A certain member in this forum started trash talking Debi, which is highly ironic being that she praised Debi to no end back in November, thereby revealing herself as the two-faced hypocrite she is.

As for Miami, the LHW class will be hotly contested and extremely competetive. If all the top LHW's show up it might be the best class we've had at a National show in quite sometime. You could have 7-8 women in that class that could win it on any given day; all of them really high quality pro potential competitors. I think it's going to be awesome. Best of luck to all the competitors.

Hi,

I will be there, competing in the Heavyweights. After winning last year's Jr Nationals Heavyweights I coulnd't go to the Nationals bc I didn't have my citizenship yet. Stacks of paperwork later - I'm all set now and that makes it special to me already, let alone finally being on a national stage! Veeeeery exciting !!!
Happy dieting to everyone competing, see you in Miami!

I am so excited to be able to say that I'm going to be a part of this show! It will be my first time ever to stand in front of the national judges as a bodybuilder and show them a new side of me! Of course, I'm sure I'll have my butt handed to me by the other awesome lightweight competitors out there, but I'm just going to have a ton of fun, to be me, and to see so many of my friends!! Plus, it's Miami! That's icing on the proverbial cake!

Watching the North Americans and Canadian Nationals was very motivating to me. Congratulations to the all the girls who competed in those two shows, and lots of well wishes to all of the Nationals competitors as the next eight weeks dwindle down into frenzied hours of tanning, oiling, pumping, and posing.

I'm so proud to be a female bodybuilder (no matter how tiny I am...lol!)!

You know, I saw that there was only one lightweight at the NA's. I joked with my trainer that maybe I should gone up to Ohio after all...lol!

Sheesh...Elena, if they think you're small, they would think I was miniscule! The goal for me is to come in harder than the Europa and weigh about 105 or 106. I'm 109 right now.

Maxt, I am just going to give it my best shot and let whatever happen happen. I'm competing against myself. Then I'll be able to take this experience, log it into the memory books, and move forward. I always want to make sure I am a good role model for female bodybuilding, a trendsetter, and a sort of Pied Piper that can lead more women onto the bodybuilding stage. I'll always be me and always follow the choices that I feel work best for me.

To me, bodybuilding is freedom. I was a caged bird in figure. I am home now.

Hey Mark000, if you're referring to Debbie Bramwell, then I don't know if she's planning on competing at this contest since she's already competed at the Masters Nationals, USAs as well as the North Americans.

I've think at one of the North Americans threads that she's mentioned that she might take it easy until next year, when she'll return back to the stage. But you may want to check with Debbie on that just to be sure.

Beyond that Mark you're right it's going to be a very tough field with some of the Best Women to have ever competed in that weight class, because most of the Women that you've named have definitely built their bodies to the peak of perfection.:)
