FTV Comics: Doris Knight

Hey all,
I wanted to give a preview of a new feature I am introducing into our members gallery. These are original comics that I have produced exclusivly for the FTV members area. This is a free sample of Episode One of 'Doris Knight' starring Brenda Smith and her real life daughter, Aubrey Smith.

There is about 5 episodes that are complete and each month I will release a new episode. This episode will get an 'official' release this Halloween. Hope you enjoy.

Sounds like a great idea James. You can have lots of fun with this I'm sure. it's time that female superhero's were more muscular than a runway model. I'm not sure how much fear a runway model would strike into an evil doer !

Thanks Mike and I am taking 'baby steps' with this venture as it takes a commitment to keep going. So adding this to the existing members gallery is a low risk way to get started.

Stories will be a variety of things and (hopefully) appeal to a variety of male and female readers.

here's a sneek peek at 2 of the villians who will appear in upcoming issues. Avis Ware and Ali Huston. Ali is terrific and I'm busy planning her own series.

I thought it was interesting. The story is pretty unusual. Never seen much like that and as im sure everyone on this board will agree superheroines just arent strong enough normally.
I also think it might prove that the Smith family has good genes.

Hey there,

Thanks for the good words and the members gallery has the next 40 frames of episode 2. Theres an incremental update each week and the full episode will be complete at the end of the month.

Right now, the continuing episodes are exclusive to FTV Members. (sorry folks, these things arent cheap to do and are somewhat time consuming). But I am working on a system to make it free to all readers. Possibly a 1 month delay on all new episodes and ad sponsored banners in the comic itself.

hey there,
thank you and the response has been very good. This particular series is more of a 'proof of concept' to get a workflow going and find out what bugs need to be worked out.

In the next day or so, I will release the next 100 frames of Doris Knight. Ali Huston is terrific and I hope to work with her more in the future.

There will be much more in the future as I'm structuring a system to keep the titles flowing on a more regular basis.

How about a modern live version of Kyra from the jungle. Originally modelled by Lori Walkup in a photo shoot. The Late Mishay Santos and a few fbbs from the 80's were featured on the backpage.

episode 4 now released with over 100 frames. I may make a free version available after I get home from Jr Nats. But for now it is available exclusivly in the FTV Members Gallery

That would require an annoying venture into rights acquisition for James (unless he's bud with the owner)--better to do a generic jungle queen-type, and keep all the credit/money.

thanks. The scene with Avis is upcoming. It was a mistake to shoot that sequence against green screen. Technically it is fine but a lot of labor involved. I much rather shoot all elements with no FX required.. or find some Eastern European guy to do all the compositing for me..
