I just dont get it Jennie Finch is on the cover of this weeks Sports Illustrated, the NCAA World Series of Softball back in May was played in front of sellout crowds and had solid TV ratings on ESPN, a womens sport that seems to be gaining popularity among girls of of all ages just got snubbed big time by the International Olympic Committee. They decided as of 2012 there will be no softball in the Olympics. So what if the US team has dominated it gives the rest of the world a standard which to shoot for. Most sports in the beginning stages are dominated by a certain country or group of people. Russia dominated hockey for years until the Miracle on Ice in 1980, Kenyon's have dominated the marathon, the US dominated in basketball it took major shenanigans in 1972 by the USSR to finally beat us......but i guess basketball survived b/c it was the MEN not the WOMENS team that did the a-- whipping!
