I just replied to a post about a 2007 sponsorship for a financial backing.

Just out of curiosity what are the needs for a female athlete? I kind of have an Idea since I am a male competitor. Just picking your mind !

I know what I need and most others...we have to purchase suits which can be very costly...up to 500.00 for 2 suits, and travel & hotel costs. Not to mention supplements and food. I pay my trainer BIG bucks also...even though I am a trainer:) There are many ways to help competitors out..I have one guy who gives me enough to cover a suit...he doesnt even know me! He just sends me a check each year to help out:) By the way...are you thinking about "sponsoring"?? I know some girls will work your booth for free if you have one at shows...I would!!

where do i begin. As Vikki said, suits would be nice. Supplements, whey protein powder, endless supply of chicken breast lol, a new george foreman, free membership to a gym, unlimited tanning package, paid airfare, hotel, car rental, workout clothes, deep tissue massages, finacial support paying for my trainer(isn't cheap), mac makeup, outfits for photoshoots,

any little thing helps honestly.

Belle PAYS for deep-tissue massage??

That could be a major income source! :D

Being that I train heavy I need the massage. In Orlando, a deep tissue massage from an expert can run you $100.00 and up. I try to do this at least once a week. Deep tissue really helps out an athlete with recovery. It would be a blessing to get these for free

Deep-tissue massages for free... no problem... all you have to do is ask me!!

Will 60 minutes be sufficient? Or do you need 90?

LOL @ Stutz!

Don't attempt deep tissue and during contest weekend, most want don't want deep tissue work done anyway. A light, gentle technique is better, and for just $500, I can show you how. ;)

Wow Tre. You'd really pay me $500 to show me how to give a better massage? Thanks. You're a true friend!

The $500 should go to Belle or Vicki, whoever is the massagee. :joker:

I ask again. What happens if you don't go through deep tissue massage? I lift on and off because of my work schedule and I lift alone. Almost like clubber lang, though I have Rocky Balboa's heart. When I do lift, I lift intense and heavy.

I beat them up...he makes them feel better, Perfect Partnership:)) Thats why I call my Biz "Partners In Fitness"
Maybe we can do a shoot this year? I will be doing 3 Pro shows...let me know if you will be at any of them. Texas (Europa) Atlantic City in Sept. and of course in 6 weeks I compete in Sacramento Ca.

If you have never had a massage before, it might be possible you could have tension, and lactic acid built up in your muscles. The massage will relieve this and break up the bad toxins.

In your other thread you ask about being stiff. You can get stiff. For example, if you had a torn, pulled, or overstretched muscle you body builds scar tissue. If you do not take proper care of your muscle injury, the scar tissue builds up and can cause you to lose strength, flexibilty, etc.

Since you train you may want to try a sports massage at least one time. It can be painful especaially around the calves and outer thighs. i almost kicked my therapist in the face, becuase it was too painful.

So I'm getting the impression that posing suits are the most expensive part of competing in bodybuilding.

Am I accurate on that notion?

And do sponsored athletes only work at booths for supplement or clothing product companies?

No...drugs are. Haha......j/k around.:420 man:

I'm doing my first comp in the town where I live so I don't have to worry about travel but besides paying for a coach, the suits and shoes will be most expensive if I do figure. I'm most likely doing lightweight bodybuilding though, so the suit is a bit cheaper. I'm also probably going to get my hair and make-up done professionally which is a great expense.

Another huge expense I have found.....PROTEIN. For the amount of protein I am eating per day it's damn expensive! And no protein shakes allowed 18 weeks out from competition! Food in general is expensive! Carbs not bad but fresh vegetables can get a little pricey....

Yes, the posing suit racket is huge.

From 20 feet away, very few people can tell the difference between a $600 suit and one that cost only $60.

I have zero sympathy for anyone who pays $200 or more for a suit and then complains about the cost.

Racket? Umm..Tre...you have any idea how long it takes to put ALL those rhinestones on the suits? Its not like we iron them on the suit. Each one is set by hand and each suit is hand made to fit that person's body. Rhinestones alone aren't cheap either, round ones aren't too bad, but when you start adding in shapes...it adds up quick!

I do have to agree with you on the more expensive suits. Your paying for the name.

Yeah its amazing how much work the ladies put into their posing suit designs.:1eek:

Just how much they care about presentation.

But of course that's to be expect since ladies do it in everyday life as well.

Tre

Racket?

Yes - it's a racket commonly known as 'the one-piece round'.

It's not there for the audience or the powder-pushers - it exists solely for the suit-makers.

Tre

Note - I'm not hatin' on the suit-makers, because you're not to blame. I'm just calling a spade a spade.

I think the importance of the suit makers is most in figure then fitness, then bodybuilding. Tre is very wise to acknowledge the economics of the situation but winners shouldn't be chosen even by the slimmest of margins by the crystals and rhinestones on their suits but the quality of their bodies, their figures their fitness and of course how they present them.
