Thanks to Heather Foster and Lisa Aukland for the emails:
Hey Everyone!
Happy New Year to you all! Well, after all our efforts, it apparently looks like women's bodybuilding is back on the upswing. Please show that there's is an over abundance of support for the women by purchasing the February issue of Muscular Development Magazine. The numbers will prove that we are indeed marketable and thus encourage the featuring of women in more issues, and hopefully encourage the other magazines to follow suit. I wish you all the best for the New Year! Please find Lisa Aukland's forwarded message below:
Healthfully Yours,
Heather Foster

You may already know that the February issue of MD has a feature called "The Three Faces of Female Muscle" about female
bodybuilding, how it evolved into fitness and figure and the future of all
three categories. It is very well written and includes 25 beautiful photos by Bill Dobbins .
I encourage everyone to send Steve Blechman a quick "thank you" for this coverage. Here's his e-mail address:

Yep - it most certainly is Sharon. :)
I've seen it - and its definately a well written and illustrated article by Mr. Dobbins.
Of course I'd expect nothing less from him, possibly the top of line historian for FBB.
Some great shots of Lenda Murray, Monica Brant and Rachel McLish in there.
Don't want to give too much away, but he does advocate for more support for FBB
and says that it wouldn't help increase the number of potential competitors as well.

I noticed that too, Isabelle. I love that set of pics that dobbins did with you. They are just awesome photos! You fit right in in that article and pics with all the pros!

Everyone knows that Bill Dobbins has been a big fan of the female bodybuilders, but from what I've heard...Dave Palumbo had a lot to do to getting this done.

The new Ironman (Ironperson?) indicates a possible trend -
15 pages of women's Olympia stage photos by Dobbins
(5 each of figure, fitness, and bodybuilding);
a glamour layout of Jenny Lynn in Lynngerie, showing real biceps,
and 5 pages of gossip and offstage pics of women competitors at the Nationals in Ruth Silverman's column, Pump and Circumstance.
They deserve no less thanks than MD, though I don't have an email address handy.
BTW, people who appreciate Dobbins' writing as well as his photos can visit his site,

His field of expertise in the magazine and what he is writing about is his anabolic knowledge. Seriously kudos but what is he doing for the women? I cannot really see what it was that got done? I get Muscular Development every month anyway and I did read an article-the article we are reading about. It was OK nothing really new most of the pictures were not female bodybuilders. One good Dayana Cadeau photo though. She's so great. This is what I expect to see: Contest coverage, competitor interviews and a lot of good pictures. More articles on Muscular Development about the debate of women's bodybuilding? I don't think that is positive although true it might be real. Yet that is all of what gets written. Now this is what we should applaud? Say a real big thank you? Thank You! It is better than Flex but how about a 100% positive look at some of the best competitors who Muscular Development likes or might be friends with. I'd like to see that.

Maxt...it's just what I heard before the issue was printed. Yes Dave writes anabolic articles and I know he didn't write this article, Bill did. I just heard he got the ball rolling with the idea. His significant other is Colette Nelson...so it's highly possible.
