Well, I made it home safety and blessed. This mission trip to Israel was the most amazing trip I have ever taken. I say this, because this trip was unlike any of my other mission’s trips before. This trip was a very personal and spiritual renewing of my soul. I cannot explain it any better…words are unable to describe what I took away from the Lords Holy Land. PTL!
Here is a quick recap of my experience. After Bishop Elise’ and I arrived in Tel Aviv, we were immediately greeted by Pastor Tosh, pastor of Come and See Revival Church. He took us to our rooms, so that we could rest up for the next day’s church service.
Early the next morning, we were taken to the Come and See Revival Church. This is where I spent most of my time in Israel.
I discovered that “church” in Israel is unlike any church service I had previously attended or worked in, throughout the States or abroad. The praise and worship (my favorite) was so real…the movement of God and the Holy Sprit settled quickly on all the church people. We were surrounded by His mighty Glory and peace. It was no time at all before I was crying at the intense presence of God. It was amazing!!!!
The church people I met were so loving and real. They opened their heart and homes to Bishop Elise’ and me. I felt so welcomed by everyone. There is so much love and fellowship shared among them. I truly felt as if I was originally apart of their church. Everyday a different member took us in and fed us dinner…they opened up their homes and shared their lives with us. I was truly blessed.
I was introduced to so many people. I met a Godly man that I quickly grew very fond of...his name is Evangelist Michael. He and I just sat and talked for hours. He is originally from Africa but spoke French, and English. We shared stories about our calling from the Lord and our desires to do more in the body of Christ. I know we will always remain close from this time on. He is very near to my heart.
I also met a young woman from Russia. She is a Jew and named Hella. She is a very sweet, eager to learn and follow Christ. She was saved 3 years prior and actively attends Pastor Tosh’s church and sings in the choir. She works for a Christian school during the week, teaching Christ’s love to them.
I also met so many other amazing people….too many to name individually…however, I will say…the people are why this trip was so amazing to me. The congregation entrusted me with their kids…I had a great time teaching, playing and loving on these leaders of tomorrow.
On the night before I left, I held a children’s party. We had a great turn out. We worked on arts and crafts, played games, and learnt of Gods love for us all. It was hard to say good bye to them, when it was time to leave. But I know I made an impact on them that they will never forget this American heavy weight body building pastor….ha
On another note, I did get to sightsee a little bit. Not as much as I would have liked to but that we because we worked such long hours in the church.
I did however get to go to Mount of Olives, Mount of Transformation, Jerusalem, the Waling Wall, the Upper Room, the Sea of Galilee, the River Jordan, the Garden Tomb, King David’s home, King David’s tomb, field of Armageddon, among a few other places. All and all, the trip was an amazing experience for me.
I got to spend an unusual amount of time in prayer which was awesome for me. I personally received direction from the Lord, through a prophecy that was given to me during a church service, as well as through my own individual prayer time.
Oh, and one more thing I must add…in the evenings when I looked up into the sky…the stars and moon appeared to be so close to the earth. As if I could just reach out and grab them. The simplest way for me to describe it is, the sky appeared to be condensed and squished together with the earth. I have never seen anything like it in all my travels! I felt so close to God- closer than I ever had before. And oddly enough, it was not through prayer or fasting, but rather by just being in his presence, in His holy city.
God is so amazing. Everything I encountered was amazing and a testimony to His Goodness and Grace.
Thank you for those few who donated toward this trip. The Christian churches in Israel struggle. They hold their meetings in ran down, old buildings, with patio chairs to sit on, and no frills. And even though, money is scarce… the trust and peace of God is more alive than any church I have attended. No super sized buildings, no fancy bulletins, or ridiculous pastors salary….just the basics….which is what is important to God, His people…His beloved people!
Jesus is alive! pc
