I notice that when some of the new photographers post here they seem to be asking the wrong questions, and not really getting at the subjects that will really help them.
Here is a fairly long but interesting video clip of a guy giving a PowerPoint brief about photographing models. I don't think it will do much for veterans, but it might help the new guys with stuff I learned the hard way.

To give you an idea of the technical level covered, after he says a smaller f-stop number means a bigger aperture, a guy in the audience complains it is over his head.
