Question for all the photographers...I am in the midst of buying a SLR digital camera to take pics at shows ect...I want something that will do a good job, do nice still and motion...and is EASY for a beginner, UNDER 500.00 bucks. I was told the Canon Rebel XT is good and the Nikon FM-10. And about zoom lens...is there one that I wont go broke on? Thanks for ANY input!

You say you want to take pics at shows. If you want to shoot stage action, I don't think you will be satisfied with what $500 will get you. Maybe one of the better "DSLR-like" point and shoot cameras will do what you want at a good price and easy to use.

If you want to start learning photography, most brands have an entry-level DSLR and kit lens that will get you on your way, but this can only lead to lust for better stuff.

Thank you Tom! Just want to explore some new things since I will not be competing...was thinking about Photography school in Sept. theres a great Art school in Delaware , right across the bridge from NJ. Also, I have been wanting a good camera for my own personal use with family too.
Hope you are doing great! I miss you !! I did a shoot with Reg yesterday 2.5 hrs, he lives only 45 minutes from us in NJ. Now...I can eat some fun stuff:)

Hey Gene! Nope, I will be sitting on my BUTT...watching the show:) I have knee surgery Tuesday...so I maybe still on crutches by then...but NO stage for me again this year...God knows when or IF I will ever be on the stage again. Only time will tell! Saw u in the lobby in NY ( Terry Town on your lap top:) Spreading the News:) Didnt want to bother you.

Annie does Shoots with the girls? Boys? hmmm...I must be out of the loop, i didnt even know that! I have always been interested in photography, and took it in high school. Just something to give a try now while I am not competing. I have more time on my hands and I am type A personality...must have things to do all the time:) Who knows...maybe someday I will be good at it:)
