Hi Chris,

Sure thing - I'm in the UK. ITV1 is one of the major terrestrial channels in the UK and the Mirror is one of the major newspapers in the UK (the Sunday edition will have more features sections etc.). They're both quite respectable media organisations in general.

Channel 5 showed the 'Supersize She' documentary about Joanna Thomas in the past, so perhaps they might be interested in doing something on Jana? Channel 4 do a lot of alternative content and might be worth a try as well. The new digital channels from the BBC are where the BBC try out more alternative content and are also commissioning a lot of new programmes at the moment so BBC3 might well be worth investigation with her agent too. There's been a recent trend in programmes about body image and differing body types on both the BBC and Channel 4 so it might be good timing now.

By the way, I was surprised a few days ago to see an article on Jana in both the Daily Express and Daily Star newspapers. It was great to see FBBs getting decent coverage, but I was waiting for the point in the article where they said something nasty about Female Bodybuilding but was amazed to find there wasn't anything negative at all, but only positive comments accepting FBBs as athletes worthy of respect, which was really cool.

Anyway, best of luck to you and Jana in your endeavours. I hope to see her on UK TV soon!

Hey Chris,

Many thanks for the awesome video clips of Jana. I particularly liked the one when you went over to New York and i am sure that you both won a lot of respect and attention from the crowds there. I respect the fact that it's nice to get some positive publicity and that Jana seems to be getting some good feedback from the press.

Yes, the 'mirror' is a pretty good paper, so that is only my opinion, and is classified as a 'yellow' paper in other words a tabloid which is circulated around the UK and statistically is read by some 10 million readers on a daily basis. If Jana has a good agent then i am sure there are many Bodybuilding mags here, for example 'the beef' that would like to feature her. As well as papers which include 'the mail, the sun, and the London Standard respectively. I am going to try and have an article published on the Slovenian bodybuilder Brigita Brezovac who i had the lovely pleasure of meeting.

Anyways, i wish you all the very best for the both of you and it's real nice of you to be totally dedicated in supporting her in everyway. Hopefully, someday she will win the MsO and willl continue to serve her country proud!
If there is any advice that you can give for me towards approaching the media on behalf of Brigita, then i would be most grateful to take her story up as female bodybuilders need all the help they can get.

Sincerely,
Rhys:)
