Thick Girl and some others have started up a new site/forums at http://www.femininebodybuilding.com/
They are going to try and raise money to help sponsor the female athletes there so we are definitely happy to see anything like that.
Check it out!

Yup! ThickGirl and her husband TTTG has a new creation! FeminineBodybuilding.com
It is not your typical bodybuilding board, but a very unique board!
Read ahead:
Over the next few months FB.com and it's staff will be setting up and adding content, getting a contest schedule together and getting ready for its grand opening January 1st 2008.
FB will be a place for female athletes, suppliers, trainers, fans and.....well you get the idea. FB is pretty much for anyone that is involved in the female physique industry.
FB.com will have a general access area open to anyone that wants to register but the main forums will be a paid subscription area that will have contest coverage by FB.com staff, forums for suppliers to advertise and promote products and services, member galleries, and just about anything you can think of.
All content on FB.com will be forum based. What does that mean? Well, all galleries, contest coverage and content will be actually on the forum and not in a separate website. This will make FB.com very easy to navigate and also will give those that wish to join to advertise services or products much more exposure.
FB.com staff will be attending contests beginning with the 2008 competition season. All those that register as a member before January 1st 2008 will be in a group of "founding members" that will have free access to all content for life! Subscriptions will not begin until January 1st 2008.

You can get an idea of what forums will be free general access and what will be paid premium access by looking at our FB.com main forum page. This will be most likely be added to and moved around before our Grand opening January 1st 2008. Subscription only access to the premium forums will not begin untill 1/1/2008 and will only apply to NEW members joining after that date.
All those that join prior to 1/1/2008 will be "founding members" and have free access to all areas of FB.com for life. After registering it may take our staff a short period of time to switch you from just a registered user to a founding member so upon registering you may not have access to the premium areas right away so just check back later in the day and we will have you set up
After 1/1/2008 when you register you will have access to the general forums but you will have to click on "paid subscriptions" in your user cp and subscribe to access the premium areas. All paid subscriptions will have instant access to all areas.
And the most exciting part of www.FeminineBodybuilding.com is the FBF Fund. This fund is supported by members subscriptions. This fund will be used to sponsor female bodybuilders, fitness and figure athletes throughout the competition season. This fund has already been started by private donations and will be a great way to give back to those female athletes that have worked so hard. So when you join FB.com you are doing more than just gaining access to a premier female physique site for and by female athletes, you are actually supporting them financially through your subscription.

A note from TTTG:
Those of you that know me understand that I am a true fan of all aspects of the female physique industry. My true love is female bodybuilding but also Fitness, Figure and all aspects of Feminine Strength. I have followed its various forms since Cory Everson back in the 1980's. As a result I have started the Feminine Bodybuilding Fund.
The purpose of this fund is to support Female Bodybuilding and the bodybuilders themselves, but also all female athletes. Starting January 1st 2008 a percentage of all subscriptions will be added to this fund and placed into very stable and steady interest earning accounts. I have started this fund by a personal donation myself. The FBF will not be used to support this site or any of the FeminineBodybuilding staff or anyone connected with them.
Starting in 2008 this fund will be used in ways determined by the FB.com members, administration and staff to support female bodybuilding, fitness & figure athletes.
Some of the possibilities are:
> Sponsorships for individual female athletes
> Awards given to specific female athletes
> Gift Certificates for posing suits or travel expenses
The ideas and possibilites are endless. This fund will be used only as our members dictate and is approved by our Admin/Staff. This will remain a fund for and funded by our members.
As of September 1st 2007 this fund is active and earning interest and I think it is time to start giving back to our devoted and dedicated female athletes.

This board along with many others are free. Seems a bit late in the game to get started in this type of business. Not sure if someone wants to pay see contest pics or to see ads.subscription area that will have contest coverage by FB.com staff, forums for suppliers to advertise and promote products and services, This is pretty much the same as spam in that your selling a product. Seems some get a pass when it comes to advertising, and others just get deleted. I think it would be good if there was a section for advertising, so people clearly know they are being sold something. I might have sounded a bit harsh, but this happens alot.
PS fb.com is really this sitefb.com "The Voice of Agriculture"

Nope, does not sound harsh at all jasons805 in fact thanks for the tip about FB.com. I have now changed any abbreviations for the site.
As far as the advertising, we have a special EXPO section for all products and services to advertise. They can only do that in the EXPO section. It's sort of set up to be like the EXPO at a show where you go to a specific place to check out the booths and if you are not interested you just don't go there. So, you can spend as much time on the site as you wish and never see an add if you don't want to. The EXPO area will actually give members the chance to ask questions directly to the promoters of the products, just like talking to someone working a booth at a show, plus you can post up your opinions and personal experience with the product as well.
Regarding the contest coverage, we have no desire to compete with GeneX Magazine and Muscular Development and other's that do great coverage. We will have limited coverage of the larger shows like the Mrs. Olympia and NPC Nationals simply because we will be there anyway but our main focus will be local and regional shows that usually do not get that much press. Additionally, we will only cover the females. So even though we appreciate those that support www.Femininebodybuilding.com make sure to hit this site and www.musculardevelopment.com as well. I know when I want to know what's going on I stop here and also Dave's Play by Play over on MD. He does an amazing job with that.
Thanks Gene for mentioning our site. FTvideo and GeneX Magazine are the best out there. See you in Vegas and Dallas Gene!

Things are going well at www.FeminineBodybuilding.com. We are still getting set up but the sponsorships for 2008 have been decided upon. We will be starting January 1st and giving out 1 sponsorship each month throughout the year. We are now taking nominations for female athletes. Details on how to nominate someone are all located on the site.
You do not have to be a subscribing member to be nominated or to be awarded a sponsorship through FB. Anyone who is a current active female bodybuilder, fitness or figure athlete can be nominated. These sponsorships are open to anyone amature or pro.
We have also set up our plans for the 2009 season as well with at least and estimated $25,000 worth of sponsorships being given out to at least 16 different athletes. These sponsorships will range from $10,000 down to $500.

Well, it would be great if it could be even more. The breakdown for this year will be a $500 sponsorship given each month starting January 1st to a female athlete. So this year our sponsorships will total $6,000. We may have some other things such as contests and things that may add to that.
The 2009 Season breakdown that we are looking at doing will be something like this.
During the first week of January 1st 2009 four www.FeminineBodybuilding.com Elite Athletic Sponsorships will be given out.
Platinum - $10,000
Gold - $5,000
Silver - $3,000
Bronze - $1,000
Plus the monthly Sponsorships of $500 in addition to this.
Other things will be included as well and are listed on FB.

We have had a nice group of nominations so far ranging from IFBB Pro's, Top Level NPC athletes and relative newcomers. Nominations will remain open so please don't be shy and get your favorite athlete to register for a sponsorship.

There may be some additional ways to use your forums to coincide with the individual FB's websites & MySpace/Facebook pages to help raise the potential for increasing sponsorship money all around. There are some search engine techniques/keyword research things you can do as well as FBB-related affiliate programs which would increase the revenues for all involved. Feel free to PM if you wish.
Either way, good luck with the site and your aspirations.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we will be attending the 2007 NPC Nationals in Dallas next weekend with several of our staff. We will be posting up some commentary and a few pics as well even though our coverage will not officially start until the 2008 season.
Good luck to all the female athletes that will be competing and again we are still taking nominations for sponsorships for 2008 :)
