I use Photobucket and ImageView and I have the habit of posting very large images in threads and I want to get away from that. How do I convert large images down to thumbnail size, post them and then expand them again to normal size when hitting them with my mouse arrow? It seems like a great way to post pictures while preserving the image size and quality.

I use Photobucket too and hope people don't mind the largish images.
Some photo sharing sites make it easy to do what you want, I think Imageshack is one of them, check it out to see if it meets your needs.

Thanks Tom, I will. I like the larger images myself but some forums apparently don't so I thought I would look into it anyway. :)

Yeah we DO mind the largish images , cause they take up too much space for one thing.
Its not like you posting pics for a bunch of 90 year olds in here, they don't need to be that big.
I can't understand why you have a hard time doing it the right way with attaching them.

If James or somebody else important has complaints about the files sizes I post here I will certainly change, but so far I've only heard whining from one candy-ass punk nobody cares about.

Oh really , I didn't know you were making complaints about yourself.
FYI , others have been complaints that just didn't have the balls to tell ya.
Anyway , someone needs to put their ego in check and stop acting like a foolish old idiot.
And if that someone thinks everyone in the world cares about his ass , then he's sadly mistaken. :fitz:

With imageshack, imagevenue, and pictiger you can easily put thumbnails in a post that are linked to the fullsize image.
I don't use any of those, so I don't know exactly how, but I've seen it done all over the place.

Eddie, seriously, is that the best you can do?
If anybody else thinks that pic I just posted of Annie is too big for posting on this forum, please let me know. If anybody wants me to stop posting pics entirely, let me know that too. I am all about making the people happy.

Thanks John. I will explore it with imageshack.
Come on Eddie, lighten up. Nobody said you or the others had to look at
our big pictures. Personally I think that the dispute between big vs. small images is a trivial one. It's the quality of the image that counts. Tom posts those big black-bordered pictures that I and a lot of others really enjoy and I know a lot of people who are very happy with them. His pictures of Gerri Deach, Wanda Moore, Debbie Bramwell, Christine Moore and lots of other women are professionally well done and extremely appealing.

One of the reasons I like imageshack is that they give you multiple options based on where you will be using the image, be it forum or message board, direct link with or without thumbnails, etc...
btw, why does everything have to become an internet brawl? This is a simple subject...lighten up!

Haha , OK , So I got two guys telling me to "lighten up" and yet I was the one who was insulted first by Tom. Go Figure . . LOL
OK guys , I will take your request into consideration , how's that . . ;)
Anyway , I never meant to get into any kind of "brawl" with Tom or anyone on this issue.
I was simply looking to make a valid point on how pics can be better posted
And it was the supposed "great photographer" who got all upset and feathers ruffled.
I expected someone of much experience to show a lot more professionalism, but obviously I was wrong.
It will be the last time I try to give a solid suggestion to a 3rd rate amateur.
So for those who are looking to get me into a pointless scwabble, Sorry Charlie, it ain't gonna happen.

Eddie's synonomous for intensity on this board. Could we make that Edtensity?
Tom keep posting those pictures of yours, and congratulations on being a third rate photographer. If third rate makes you able to take pictures with these girls, I'd be thrilled!
