Hey, I'm doing a small survey to find out how much everyone is willing to spend for tickets to a women's physique show.

Amateur-Regional (Emerald Cup, BodyRock)
Amateur-National (USAs, Nationals)
Pro-Level C (New York Pro, California Pro)
Pro-Level A (Ms. International, Ms. Olympia)

Thanks,
Tre'

Hi Tre

If available on the internet I would spend for virtual attendence for at least 4 amateur shows per year.

I actually find it distasteful to do anything to support the IFBB but if I felt the athletes were getting a fair deal probably another 2-4 pro shows a year.

$300 for the Arnold V.I.P. to include banquet, expo, men's and women's shows was a good deal. $175 for the Jan Tana to include show and banquet was a good deal also. $600 for the previous Olympias out of Las Vegas was just a little bit too much.

Hi Tre

Misread your question.

I would spend up to $50 for the major amateur and pro shows, $25 for the locals (whether live or online).

Bodyrock seems kinda expensive Fbbhubby for it being just a national qualifying show? Not sure what the running cost is because I haven't been able to attend a national qualifier in a while? I'd think more so along the lines of $25-30?

They charge a lot to rent George Mason University's Arts Pavillion and they spend a lot of money on Lighting and Guest Posers. This year I could not make it because of an injury, but the year before I had an all-access V.I.P. card that I wore around my neck. The winner of the show always goes places in the sport and travels from a distance. This year Michelle Baker won and from the pictures I saw, she looked great. She could be going right up there with Lora Ottenad and Mimi Jabalee in the Heavyweights at this year's Nationals, but I am just speculating?

I'd pay amounts like Greg mentioned in the post above, but I won't pay to travel to out of town venues. When there is a show in the DC area I try to go

Just to be clear, Michelle Baker competed because she had to requalify for national shows and she won her class, but the overall winner was Ayeda Silent:

I can't remember what the tickets went for the night show, but I doubt it was over $35.

I go to a good number of shows each year, and for most contests the only way I can justify the ticket costs is as a way to show my support for the promoters. At a show like the Nationals I'll pay the $50 knowing I won't get a good seat.

Ticket prices are high compared to the "entertainment options" available. While us "fans" and some friends and relatives of the competitors will always pay to get in, the average fan or curious spectator will be put off by prices much more than they will pay for a movie.

The problem with the question is that national shows generally involve travel; the cost of show tickets is small compared to airfare plus hotel, except for Olympia or Arnold VIP tickets.

Amateur-Regional (Emerald Cup, BodyRock) - $30
Amateur-National (USAs, Nationals) - $50
Pro-Level C (New York Pro, California Pro) - $50-$75
Pro-Level A (Ms. International, Ms. Olympia) - $75-$100 And if I pay for the $100 ticket the only people I want to see infront o me are the judges and a few annoying magazine photographers. None of this friends of the promoter crap I see constantly. They didn't pay shove them off to the side.
