I know, this is about another site. But still. can someone give me an answer?
I was eager to find results from the Olympia. Went to www.bodybuilding.com to see results and pictures... But...
What the f... is going on?
Why no pictures from MS Olympia?? :(
Who is making these decisions to totally ignore the Female Bodybuilders???
Clickinīto see results from Olympia weekend.... and all I see is Mr Olympia, and Figure Olympia and Fitness Olympia.
But no MS OLYMPIA.
I know that a lot of crazy things is going on with the Female Bodybuilding in the IFBB, but.... I donīt get it. Why?

I donīt know, maybe there was something somewhere on their site about Ms Olympia... but I shouldnīt have to search for it now should I? It should be up there, easy to find as the rest of the results and pictures! Right??

basically Star nobody over at BB.com gives a s*** about the Ms O, if it's not about men with arms as big as your waste or battle ready cheerleaders (figure/fitness) they couldn't care less.

p.s. not having a go at figure/fitness but fbb's do deserve more coverage.

I also was wondering where the Women's bodybuilding results and the Men's Challenge Round are on the Bodybuilding.com. I can't find them on the web site. I wrote an email to the web master. Maybe I will get a reply.

Star,

What else is new? It's really getting old how these web site and magazines treat female b.b. I for one a getting a bit tired of it. I would much rather see the results of the Ms. O than the "other" competitions. Beside who gives a crap about guys with muscles? I want to know about the beautiful women.

To all the ladies out there who make the sport what it is God bless you. Star, Amanda, Gina, Brenda, Dayana, etc thank you. I wish you all the best and please keep doing the damn thing!!! Luv you all

Well folks it is worse than just Bodybuilding.com not having the women's bodybuilding results. I was just on the IFBB's 2005 Olympia results page. They have photos there of the male bodybuilders and results, they have photos of the fitness ladies and results, they have photos of the figure ladies and results. However they do not have photos of the bodybuilding ladies, only a table with the competitors and results. Here is the web address to the IFBB 2005 Olympia results: http://www.ifbb.com/ifbbpro/2005events/2005olympia.htm

I sent an email to Ben Weider, Pamela Kagan, and Tony Blinn at IFBB.com asking about this and expressing that this is not good support for womens bodybuilding.

Oh yea, bodybuilding.com isn't the only medium out there not covering the Ms. O. Actually, I was quite surprised last month when they contacted me to do an interview for their site. That showed some interest in our sport I guess! Here it is for those interested: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/drobson109.htm
Enjoy!

I agree. While hopping around the Internet looking for pics, results, reviews etc., I noticed a dearth of info for the Ms. O portion when compared to fitness/figure and Mr. O. It's ridiculous imho. The athletes bust their asses, they deserve WAY more respect. WHile the fan support seems to be there, support from administering body definitely is LACKING. They're clearly ignoring one half their athlete base. What a bunch of clowns.

Good thing these boards and sites are around to provide an avenue for recognition and discussion.

unfortunately none of this is really news, just another in a series of pervasive disrespect's.

OK here is some possible good news. After writing an email to bodybuilding.com about them not having anything on the 2005 Olympia results page about Ms. O. and women's bodybuilding, I got the below response.

"Hello,

I apologize, I will contact the web developers and see what I can find out about that. If they have any information I will make sure they post it on the webpage. I apologize, I thought that information was on the page. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.

Thank you
Aerobic Angela!
Bodybuilding.com"

Although I don't plan on holding my breath to see them add the Ms. O. results on their website, atleast their reply was positive.

The IFBB site likewise says Ms O photos "will be posted shortly".

This may not be intentional disrespect, just a consequence of the intentional disrespect of not holding the Ms O at the main venue.

I've never heard that bodybuilding.com was a women's bodybuilding website. GeneX is the definitive source for all news about women's bodybuilding in North America. When I'm at a contest that isn't being covered by James or Gene, those guys are the first ones I contact once I get the results.

Tre,

They had coverage of the Olympia, including men's bodybuilding, women's fitness, and women's figure. The point is they neglected women's bodybuilding coverage on their 2005 Olympia results page.
