It's not on the list, so I have to assume it's not happening. I wish Bev and Steve hadn't dropped women's bodybuilding from the NY pro show. That's the one I was hoping to do. :(

On the bright side, we don't have to start our diets until late summer

NO chance to see you lovely ladies at your highly defined, beautiful bodybuilding peak for almost a whole year?!!!!! Talk about post-competition depression!
Maybe someone should sponser some kind of off season "no striations allowed" show so you can show off your more luscious loveliness, and so that a whole year of anticipation doesn't frustrate the heck out of us.

As far as the schedule goes...for those of us that are unable to do the "dream" show such as the Ms. I (arm isn't going to make it), then we have this small list to choose from. Like Robin, I was looking at the NY Pro as being my pro debut--but that Atlantic City is looking pretty good. Or...should I stick close to home and do the Europa?? Hmm..... ;)

You are right, my friend. I've made the corrections. Sorry for any confusion...

Gina, seems to me that Dallas is your lucky city, no?
At least we don't have to start dieting hard until later next year :D
Sorry to hear your injury is not 100% yet :(

Hi Robin,

Yes it is! That and my Mom can come see me there as well. She has MS, so there are times when it is hard for her to travel (hasn't stopped her so far from seeing me on stage!). :D

My arm is 100% back in action...just needs a little more time to catch up to the other one. I have them within 1/4 of an inch of eachother, and could certainly go with that...but I want my physique to be as symmetrical as possible before I start the prep for my first pro show.

Hope to see ya soon and my best to Barry,
G

Thanks for the info, Robin.

What's this "Atlantic City" thing about? The last pro show they had there (2000, I believe) was an abysmal failure, partially because of lack of promotion, partially because of schedule, but mainly because of location.

Any word as to who is promoting that one?

New York is unfortunate, but not worth complaining about.

The Europa is a great show to do, so I hope to see some of you in that one.

Right now, the Bulk Nutrition show (Charlotte Pro) is not expected to return to Charlotte in '06. The promoter is looking at venues in Florida and mentioned Orlando as a possible destination. I expressed that I'm not a fan of *anything* in Florida during September-October, but he seems willing to roll the dice on the weather.

One thing is certain, though - once the date for the Olympia is set, the Bulk Nutrition event *will* be 2 weeks before it. That much is for sure. Every athlete loved the 'star' treatment they received at the Charlotte show and I expect this event to grow to #3 on the schedule within just a few years. I'm lobbying for Charlotte or Atlanta, but we'll see how it goes.

I like Charlotte. Specifically I like the Southern cooking - let's just saying the portions are a little bit larger than you'd get in Europe. And if I get homesick, there's always the Irish bar, Ri Ra. Hell, they even throw in a women's bodybuilding show I hear.

I'm a huge fan of Charlotte as well, its proximity to home notwithstanding. I've actually been to that bar - a couple of years ago, they were the only nearby restaurant downtown whose grill was open after midnite.

Downtown Charlotte has classy venues and since it's a heavy corporate area, it's empty on the weekends, giving the eventgoers the run of the place. It's also got tons of great areas for shoots, which is an important criteria for any trip. :)

I'm still rooting for Charlotte, but a few major things went wrong this year, so it's unlikely that Mike will give them another chance unless they (the venue and Ticketmaster) seriously sweeten the deal for him.

Hi Tre - It's listed as being promoted by Sports Partner LLC/Ronald Goldstein from New York and Stokely Palmer from West Orange, N.J. Good news is that there's more price money ($10,000) than the others (aside from Ms I and Ms O).

I know the name Palmer somehow... is he a judge perhaps? Never heard of Goldstein.

Isn't Stokely an NPC HW competitor? I think his last show was the North Americans this year.

Does anyone have a comprehensive list of 2006 amateur shows? I'm starting to compile to look at schedules for the NPC stuff.

I'm sure you already noticed the major national show dates and some other contests for 2006 are already listed on the "2005" NPC News schedule.

See ya in Atlanta.

Let me guess, let me guess!

Jr USAs - last weekend of April
Jr Nationals - 2nd or 3rd weekend of June
Masters Nationals - 3rd weekend of July
USAs - last weekend of July
Team U - 1st weekend of August
North Americans - ugh, can't remember, but it's the 1st or 3rd weekend of September
Nationals - 3rd weekend of November

Was I close?

More prize money is always a good thing. I hope they'll treat you guys as well as the athletes were treated at the Charlotte Pro.

Hey Mark000 - Thanks for asking. We had more of an impact from Rita, but it was minor stuff. However, the community of Lafayette felt Katrina hard with hundreds of evacuees housed at the Cajun Dome. Now, the Cajun Dome is back to normal, but the population and traffic has increased in this area noticeably. Looks like it will be years before things are straightened out in this state as in Mississippi. We were blessed not to be impacted and I just keep asking my husband, "Why would anyone want to live in a swamp?"

So are you back in N'Orleans?

I owe you a CD - are you going to Nationals or should I mail it?
