As I extend to everyone here best wishes for the holiday, I am especially thinking of fellow forumite Buffdoll, and of other New Orleans area competitors whose fates are unknown to me (Tazzie Colomb, Mary Lado).

Also being from the New Orleans area, and having just packed up my parents for their return to Metairie this week, Thanksgiving will be the first chance for my family and my wife's family to really reconnect post-Katrina. For a day, everyone can sit at the table together and forget about FEMA money, tail-chasing phone calls to insurance agents, haggling with contractors, etc. etc. The edge of a brighter, hopeful future starts tomorrow in earnest.

Buffdoll, I hope that you and your husband are surrounded by loved ones tomorrow, and that you two enjoy a welcome and much needed respite. God bless.
