:wtf: The IFBB wants to stop judging the posing round. I guess it's too much effort to get the judges to look at the stage and watch the competitors posing routines.

IFBB Proposal (http://www.ifbb.com/ifbbpro/2005news/proposal_vote.htm)

What a joke.

do you think that would actually pass?

Tongue in cheek: Maybe it is a good thing now they can turn the music up during the posing routines. At the NPC the volume was so low I could hear the fitness girl's costumes rustle during their perfomances and I was in 5th row. Same problem at the Olympia ...felt like I was at church.
But seriuosly I think they want to take the pressure of themselves in a situation where a guy/girl they have placed second comes in and blows the crowd away and the person they have as first put the crowd to sleep. They can then just shrug their shoulders. A good example was Mike Ergas's routine (and physique) at NPC and the crowd response when he was named second about 2 minutes later.
Sound like a copout to me.

Has the 'scoring' of the posing round ever changed any outcome? If so, how often does this happen? I'd say it happens rarely, if ever.

In other words - this proposal, pass or fail, changes nothing. Give me something with substance, so that I can get excited.

I think it did in a Miss olympia between Bev Francis and Lenda Murray. You are right though that it rarely ever happens!

The only time I remember it making a differance is Linda M vs Laura C forgot what Olympia it was but Laura had a red suit on Linda I think was wearing black. Anyway that was pretty much a tie, but Linda had the better evening routine I think that pulled it out for her.

Once in 25 years?

Like I said, this proposal is worthless - neither a yes or no vote has any relevance whatsoever...nothing will be any different than it is now.

There will still be zero judging accountability. Address that and then you're talking seriously. This posing round ruse is poppycock.
