Hey a lot of competitors either have had journals or are utilizing blogs to journal with. We've started collecting links to various public journals and have posted them on our links page.
Here's where you can see who's got ones up and if you have or know of others, please share them with us.

My blog is in my members section, however I am adding a free section blog as soon as my webmaster reaaranges my site to accomodate it!!!
In the meantime, here is an excerpt from my latest diary entry today......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3/30/2005
Hi Everyone~
Happy Wednesday!!! The week is officially halfway over!!! :)
Hope you are all well today! It is absolutely GORGEOUS outside...I just came from the park....I had to get outside today~the rain and nasty weather we have been having lately was really getting to me...I needed fresh air and sunshine!!!!
I finally went back to the gym on Monday~I needed last week off to recover from my Strongman competition....but I was itching to go back and train by Monday....I hit chest~and managed to kill myself in the process! LOL!!! My chest is tender to the touch! Last night I did shoulders, and tonight is big legs....Our first official night of our new squat program~We have been conditioning ourselves for this the last few weekd, so me, Elena, and Claudia are the new Wednesday night training crew! I have high expectations for us~~Should be good!!!
Coming into the world of Strongman has been great...It has opened my eyes to a lot of new training techniques and has made me aware of some of my weaknesses and my strengths....I realize that Strongman can tie into my bodybuilding training~not that I would be able to train like that all the time~but I can incorporate certain things into my workouts that would benefit me in both sports. I realize that Powerlifting is a bit closer to bodybuilding~Strongman is sort of an offshoot of the two! I also have had the great opportunity to meet some new people when I came into that sport~really spectacular athletes!!!! One is Julie Havelka...I remember seeing Julie in Monster Muscle Magazine the month before I was featured as the IronMaiden...Julie is a Strongwoman and Powerlifter~and a Wrestler!!! Some of her credits are...
2001 Beauty and the Beast WorldStrongman/Strongwoman Challenge 1st place
Strongest Woman in the West 2002 1st place
2003 Northeast X-tremeStrongman/Strongwoman Showdown 1st place
2nd Woman in the World to close theCaptains of Crush No. 2 Gripper
Her best competition lifts~Squat: 474 lbs~Benchpress: 308.5 lbs~Deadlift: 475 lbs...For a total of 1201 lbs!!!
Pretty impressive stuff!!!! Julie will be coming shortly to my Girlfriends section~and for those of you interested, Julie wrote a book~called Personal Best. It is pretty much everything you need to know to compete in Strongman~technique, workouts, visualization~you name it, its there...I ordered it a few days ago, and I am definitly looking forward to reading it!! In the meantime, check out her site...
http://www.juliehavelka.com/
Another great person I met is Stephanie Luther....she competed at the contest I did in Connecticut 2 weeks ago~she won the Lightweight class. Her credits include...
Fall Strength Fest 10-11-03 * 2nd place (trained only 3 weeks)
Battle of Bad Ass 5-22-04 * 1st place
RI state championship 6-19-04 * 1st place
Hudson River Strongman 8-28-04 * 1st place
Stronger than all 3-19-05 * 1st place
Steph is also coming to my Girlfriends section!!! :) She was really a sweetheart and was very helpful at the meet I did, offering advice to someone(me) who really had no clue what I was doing! LOL!!! Thanks to her!!!!
Well all, I am off for now...I leave you with the pics of the day!
I will be sure to stop in later tonight or tomorrow to let you know how the workout went tonight! Don't forget, Wednesday night updates later on tonight!!!
'Till next time, Keep pumpin' hard!!!
XOXO
Heather Lee
PS...be sure to check out the May 2005 issue of IRONMAN in the News and Views Section~Lonnie Teper did a nice writeup about me!!!
My Journal
Date: January 22, 2005
Today I’ve contemplated the subject of gossip. What is gossip? To me it’s entertainment exercised by both female and male for the purpose of a lack of conversation due to ignorance. Why do I choose the word ignorance? Most people have no idea what to talk to talk about, other than other people’s short comings or their excellence which they have no means to replicate. The short comings of another are easier to exuberate because it gives the person(s) the opportunity to give themselves a boost in their own self confidence by therapeutically consoling their own imperfections indirectly. I feel that by gossiping, a feeling of importance and dominance becomes a means of subconsciously excusing all human mistakes made by said gossiper. Am I at fault? Sure I am. All human beings are at some point. Does that make it right? No one in their right mind would say it would. Yet we all feel the need to do what we know is wrong. I can quote one of my favorite woman leaders, Eleanor Roosevelt, who said, “Simple minds discuss people. Average minds discuss events. Great minds discuss ideas.” I am no saint, but I will continue to try “shutting the hell up” if I have nothing of significance to talk about.
Star you are a deep and cerebral contemplative thinker. Maybe a type A personality? I say that in a good way because of what I know type A personalities are best suited toward focusing and being almost perfect as well as being able to sustain long careers in bodybuilding. As far as gossip goes, yes I love ideas and philosophy like Nietzsche and Freud, but I also like gossip just to keep up with what everybody is doing. I don't have the family you do, all of my parents died already. I don't think gossip is a good thing in the strongest sense you describe where it is used to make one person feel superior to another. Yes indeed that is contributory to ignorance and worse intolerance.
Thank you for taking time out to read my thoughts on the down side of gossip. I certainly haven't studied any philosophers like Freud or Nietzsche. I just know about them. So the type A personality that you describe is a new lesson for me...you learn something new every day. I wrote this in my journal after a party I attended. I noticed how everyone, like at most parties, gravitated into cliques. I have an introvert/extrovert personality, so at that particular party I was more of a "wall flower" that observed and listened to everyones different conversations. Some of them were interesting topics, others were belittling and cruel. I understand what you mean when you say you like gossip. I'm sorry to hear that your family is gone. Gossip is informative when it is based on facts, be it negative or positive. I just don't like the judgemental aspect of it when it's negative, but of course, we can't control that aspect. Cool chatting with you! Thanks again...Star
Well, Star I think that we are in agreement on judgementalism and I like the way you took eveything in at the party. I just love to watch an entire social scene develop at a slow but comfortable pace. That is why I love chilled out lounges and oceanside cafes, although my lifestyle does not lend itself to this recreation as often as I'd probably like. That might be better for me too. If you do have time, look into both Sigmund Freud and Friedrich Nietzsche. Nietzsche's best work is a kind of very complicated language though, so you'd have to break it down to concepts while taking notes and outlining, whereas Freud is very psychological and reads well. Some of Freud's psychological theory you could find enlightening while probably not all of it. That Journal entry that you made was a very good one though. I enjoy your writing on Graphic Muscle where you mod.
He was my second try at getting a website. He told me he would get it up and running without any initial cost, that he would just take a percentage. He said he was Canadian. I haven't heard from him in months. All the pics on there are old. I don't even know how to get a hold of him or anything. He's just disappeared and is collecting funds off my hard work. I know because people keep asking me when I'm going to make updates. They would only know I haven't made updates if they've already joined. I get so upset. I don't know how to warn people other than posting not to join other than on other message boards. It's sickening! Hopefully, Mike will get the new one up and running and people will get referred there first when they do a search on my name.
anne,
you cant take back the site name. it belongs to whoever registers the site. that is how people have made $$$ on the net is selling domain names. however, if you have not signed a release with him then you may sue him in civil court for using your photos. That part you may need to consult with an attorney probably canadian. I will tell that you continue to inform your fans about the hoo-doo. once you get the other site up and running it will be ok. Oh, when folks contact you about updates determine if they are paying members of the bogus site and inform them to cancel membership, payment, autodrafts. personally it would be more satisfying to spend less money go to canada and beat his ass.
Anne,
This is a good place to start. http://rougeweb.com. It where the site is hosted.
Inform them that the site this person has put up is NOT authorized by you, that he is profiting from copyrighted images that he does NOT have authorization to use and that he is in violation of US intellectual property rights laws. Also indicate that you are considering legal action. Leave that last part a little vague.
If they don't respond you may have to have an attorney write a letter. But generally, hosting companies do NOT want to get bogged down in this kind of action.
