Now this is a thread, that I can relate to and I'm sure you folks can as well. I want to dedicate this thread to the most Beautiful and Outstanding Vascular Women Bodybuilders & Fitness Women within the last 26 to 28 years in the sport.

As for me I first and foremost LOVE the "Thickly Beefy Dense Freaky Shredded Vascular Ripped" contest shape look, even if it's at 4 to 6 weeks before the contest. There's nothing like a Female Bodybuilder & Fitness Woman in Shredded Ripped contest shape, so Aesthetically Beautiful and Amazingly Sexy for sure.

So if you happen to know which Women Bodybuilders and Fitness Women who posses some of the Greatest Vascularity around contest time, then this thread is for you. Other than that: NO FIGURE ALLOWED!!!!!! ALL HATERS NEED NOT TO APPLY/ POST.

You've met your vascularity-fanatic match, CBD! I'm into them at least as much as you ... perhaps more :D

Can't really post photos right now, but I'll throw out some names ... strictly from bodybuilding for now. It's easier for me to kind of break it down by body part -- that way, if a competitor doesn't have wall-to-wall veins (and few do), she can be duly recognized for any outstandingly vascularized muscle groups she may happen to have. I have skipped nominating competitors for outstanding arm veins below the deltoids, as most FBBs are solid in that department.

Keep in mind that the best vein shots for many of these FBBs come soon after the contests. So if you find yourself saying "she didn't look all that veiny onstage" ... that might explain things.

- Heike Jung's legs
- Nancy Lewis' legs (esp outer thighs!)
- Isabelle Turell's legs (either immediately pre- or post-contest
- Christine Roth's abs
- Pauliina Talus's inner thighs, calves/shins, and ankles
- Kelly Felske's delts and pecs
- Colette Guimond's legs, esp calves/shins
- Helle Neilsen's calves and hamstrings
- Merrete Horness's legs (really unusual curly veins all over)
- Joanna Thomas's calves
- Christine Moore's thighs and hams (see above)
- Bonnie Priest's thighs
- Angie Salvagno's legs (esp calves/shins)
- Dianne Solomon's delt-pec tie-ins, and her pecs proper
- Robin Parker's legs, esp hamstrings as on stage at the 2005 John Sherman
- Monica Martin's calves and shins
- Debi Lasewzski's legs

- Betty Pariso's pecs (her pec and deltoid veins make her most-muscular pose)
- Deb Widdis's outer thighs and hamstrings

(Pariso and Widdis are two of the very few competitors I've ever seen have vascularity reaching any part of their glute muscles. Both have a vein coming off the higher part of the inner thigh that snakes back and slips over the very edge of the corner of one of the glutes. Betty's is on her lower left glute, Deb's is on the right)

- Denise Masino, pretty much all over (post-contest shape)
- Sonya McFarland's delts and abs circa 2003 (about the best abdominal veins ever, IMO)
- Amanda Dunbar's abs and legs and all over (also about the best abdominal veins ever, IMO)
- Mary Lynne Mackenzie, abs and legs and all over (her abs are very close to McFarland's and Dunbar's)

Masino, Dunbar,and McKenzie are the closest I've seen to having practically every muscle group richly vascularized. Masino and McKenzie don't show it so much on stage, but when photographers have caught them in just the right post-contest shape ... look out. Amanda's vascularity is stronger on stage than those two ... post-contest, it's insane.

Dalberton, I liked the way you broke it down when it comes down to Female Vascularity big time my friend. I also would love to give props to Debbie Kruck, Jenny Hendershott, Kim Klein, Tracy Greenwood & Mindi O'Brien: Beautiful Fitness Women with the right amount of Feminine Vascularity as their FBB counterparts.

It's just one of those things ... if vascularity turns you on, it's readily apparent and highly memorable.

CBD -- yes, many, many fitness (and figure, esp post-comp) competitors sport great veins. IIRC, at last fall's Olympia Fitness, Adelina Freidmansky started showing some tell-tale quad vascularity on stage. And she won the show, so I suppose the judges didn't dock her too much for it. Jenny Worth, back in the day, would sometimes get some vascularity popping up on her teardrops and calves after shows, but it's rare to see it on stage.

One thing that's interesting about fitness/figure competitors these days is how many get pronounced abdominal vascularity in the days immediately after competition. Maybe it's just the proliferation of pics on the Net in recent years, but it seemed there were few fitness competitors showing off nice ab veins in photos, say, 10 years ago. But these days ... you can check out post-comp photos of Dinah Al-Sabah, Tara Scotti (especially), and Debbie Leung - to name but three - to see astounding abdominal vascularity.

Here's a shot of Adela Freidmansky's quad vascularity (her inner left quad). It was at the Sacramento pro fitness show last year, not the Olympia (where Adela was a touch smoother and finished third). Yeah, it's not quad veins like Christine Moore's ... but consider that she is a fitness contestant and it's an on-stage shot (would love to see what veins popped out after her cheat meal). Dalberton, those are some Great choices, my friend but I also want to mention as well Denise Hoshor, Amy Pazzo, Michelle Ralabate, Sue's Price & Gafner, Debi Laszewski, Lindsay Mulinazzi, Britt Miller, Nikki Fuller as well as Ms. Olympia's Cory Everson thru Yaxeni Oriquen posess Great Vascularity as well.

I agree with you when it comes to Sonya's, Tracey's Deb's, and Mary Lynne's sporting some great vascularity as well. And I also don't want to forget Laura Creavalle, Nicole Ball, Autumn Raby and Diana Dennis sporting Excellent Vascularity as well on their physiques.

Like I said before Dalberton, even though some of the posters seem to love the huge off-season bulky look, I've always been fond of the Freaky Vascular Ripped look because to me it's more attainable and marketable. Even if it's at 4 to 6 weeks before contest time, that look is very Beautiful and Attractive.

Like I said before Dalberton, even though some of the posters seem to love the huge off-season bulky look, I've always been fond of the Freaky Vascular Ripped look because to me it's more attainable ...
On the contrary -- any of the competitors here will tell you that the hyper-vascular condition is both difficult to obtain and to maintain. Months of arduous dieting come in advance of that look ... even if a cheat meal is necessary to bring the veins out to full effect. You're looking at these physiques' greatest level of vascularity through a pretty small window of time.

Sometimes, genetics can be extra cooperative, though. Isabelle Turrell's quad shots from eight weeks out up above would be an example -- presumably, along the course of her contest prep, those veins stick around for a month or more. I know that different competitors show their latent vascularity in different ways during the true off-season (most especially after a workout). Some competitors still have just about year-round vascularity going on their calves and shins, for instance. Others could probably point out that their delts stay fairly veiny, or that the long thick veins on their inner thighs never quite fade away completely.

More in fitness/figure than in bodybuilding, you'll see competitors stay close to their contest weight year round ... which keeps their vascularity at the ready to pop out in response to subtle stimuli. One such competitor is Jodi Miller -- who has written elsehwere about how her vascularity will increase after meals. She'll eat something, and then notice veins popping up on her delts, lower abs, and hip/groin area (not sure how long this post-meal vein dilation lasts). I'm sure if she notices this effect, many of her peers do, too.

I will tell what Dalberton, In March when I attend the Arnold's I'll be looking forward to seeing both the Ms & Fitness International contestants at their most Vascular best that weekend as well as at the North Americans in September. The level Shredded Ripped Vascularity at both of these contests are unbelievable.

But nevertheless you brought up a good point. I can keep an open-mind that when it comes to FBBs & Fitness Women, During the off-season they would have to "bulk" up to put on some size so when it comes time to prepare for their next contest they would need at least between 16-18 weeks to get their bodies back into "Lean & Ripped" condition so that they'll be able to give the competion their run for the money at contest time (both Amatuer & Pro alike.)

Also it wouldn't suprise me if some of your Lighter weight Female Bodybuilders (Lightweights, Middleweights & some Light-Heavies) and Fitness Women could carry just as much Vascularity in the off-season just as much as the "figure" girls would and still look good after a workout.

But what do you think? Inquiring minds would like to know. :)

It just seems to vary a lot between competitors -- genetics clearly plays an important role. After all, there are a very few non-athletic women out there that have considerable vascularity (i.e. more than you'd think possible without working out + good diet) ... usually confined to the neck, hands, forearms, and ankles/feet. Some from this same group of women surprise themselves when they stick with an exercise routine for a while and notice veins popping out of their biceps, delts, groins, and calves/shins. Women blessed with these kinds of "vascularit genes" probably maintain the visible veins more year round if they get into competition.

It does make intuitive sense that a competitor (of any discipline) with a lighter, ectomorphic type of physique may well stay closer to contest weight off-season than the bigger competitors. I'd think that the ability to stay relatively lean year round would facilitate off-season vein visibility. It might not be a perfect one-to-one correlation, though. I seem to remember seeing some off-season shots of the quite massive Tazzie Colomb that, while her muscles were more swollen and less cut than they'd be on stage, showed that much of her vascularity was still apparent (especially below her knees). It seemed also that Tazzie had this one thick vein running over the right side of her abs/obliques that would stay around for quite a while after competition.

I didn't delve into arm veins ... but if you consider those, Eulalia Santos is way up there. She just seems to have ... so darned many of them on her forearms. That's 90% genetic, but still impressive.

Also note the veins on the bellies of Eulalia's triceps. That is pretty rare ... to have that many prominent veins in that area. On the inside part of the triceps, close to the biceps -- sure. On the back of the triceps? Not so much.

very true d-pump, Sophie Duquette have one of the most beautiful, great & sexy of female bodybuilding, was almost two years that see not compete, I don't know the reason, but i was see a video for her (of geneX, of course). flexing her calves in a living-room (in an armchair), she was great & impressive. These video is the best i can see of her.

Other than that Shadowman, This is a living testament as well as proof that in comparison to the big humongous massive bulky shape (with the exception during the off-season), Women Bodybuilders & Fitness Women that posess Beautiful Vascularity during contest time looks much better and especially their muscles & proportions are very Sexy, Sinewy, Shapely Marketable and Wonderful.

Like I told Dalberton, I could understand that during the off-season that most FBBs & Fitness Women have to "bulk" up to improve their size so when it comes time to diet down, increasing their cardio along with their weight training, contest prep within 16 to 18 weeks before their contest to get "lean & ripped" then it's all good.

And also I agree that Good Genetics plays & Muscle Maturity plays in an important part of the devleopment for Female Bodybuilders & Fitness Women.

Ok when it comes down to me i am alot different from many. this goes way back before i ever attend actual bodybuilding contest. I have always had the genetics to get big, but the true job was to develope a balance physique in which that took up from the ages of 14- till about 25 yrs old. I done many diets. My goal was , was to be lean but feel balanced. Not just know how to get lean for a show. I loved the feeling of being very lean. I could do anything. I lasted longer with my jobs, dance, cardio and training period plus my moods were more balanced. So in 2000. I got with Dr.David Boher. I told him i hated the offseason look, although i didnt get near as gummy as i have seen others, but i wanted to still see my abs. Still feel sexy within my shell that i have worked so hard for. So ok, we discovered i was hypoglycemic. got ahold of that, kicked up my protein and my omega fats and made sure my electrolytes were balanced just like my nitrogen balance. I put on another 8 pnds of lean that year without any substance. I found out what worked for me. It took me a few weeks to deal with the change of the diet, but once my body chemistry kicked in with it i have never gone back.
I been able to build up to where i am now, but what i focus on anymore and have for the past few yrs is QUALITY tissue. It looks or even appears that i am bigger but what is happening is that my tissue is getting more dense and the vascularity becomes even more apparent. The difference from pre contest diet to offseason is i gradually up my carbs to an extra 100 then 200 on other days depending on training day. I keep the omegas in and am very faithful to my minerals and herbs in which helps out with the nervous system and maintaining your balance. Many will jump off their diets to fast and your body is in the craving mode the moment you spike that insulin the brain wants more and more and some cannot find the will power to control it. thats the danger zone , and eventually women and MEN bbers just say screw it i am offseason now who cares. Believe me they do, but the run into burn out on the fight.
So i dont do this, and sense i am so ontop of my nutrition and always have been that is why i am still lean and vascular in my offseason. plus i dont leave the gym. I still train because i do not just do it for shows, i do IT FOR ME. and i do modern dance. Now i could not do what i do being way to gummy. nor would i enjoy what i see. Nor would my cam fans and clients, nor would i have near the photo shoots available to me. You have to enjoy your foods or this can just be an all in all battle. I dont want that. So keep it simple and keep it honest and balanced along with consistency and persistance being the key.

Thank you for that very informative post. I for one much prefer the leaner look that you and just a few other FBBs maintain year round (Monica is another). I have never fully understood the need to put on 20 sometimes 30 extra pound in the name of being OFF-SEASON. I realize the the body needs fuels to grow and that there are some hormonal concers, in women especially, when the body hits a certain bf%. But as you have done, you can control this with proper diet and nutrition. Too me, if I was a competitive bber and I felt that I had to go OFF-SEASON and then crash diet to loose 20 - 30 lbs for each contest, for one I would probably only be able to do one show a year and I would hate my look for most of the year because of the OFF-SEASON look, so consiquently I would tire of the whole thing pretty quickly.

Anyway, Sheila we apreciate all that you do for YOU as it is much more appealing to us as noted by you popularity on camera. I wish more of the young newcomer fbbs would contack you to understand how they too can maintain the leaner look while still being able to add quality muscle size and strength.

Like I said before, give me a Female Bodybuilder or Fitness Woman that is ripped to shreads before a big, humoungous, massive, Bodybuilder without any definition.

Only a few Heavyweight Female Bodybuilders could pull it off in a combination of a Heavyweight with Freaky Shredded Ripped conditioning: Kim Chizvesky, Yaxeni Oriquen, Christine Roth and ESPECIALLY Betty Pariso to name a few that can still maintain their Feminine Beauty and Symmetry.

You can also Include Gina Davis, Sherry Smith, Trudy Ireland and Heather Policky for maintaining their Beautiful Features while displaying such Beautiful, Oustanding Vascularity & Muscle Maturity during their contest shape look.

Despite of what the other posters have said on other boards I personally Like the contest shape look through and through; It's just a Beautiful sight to see on a Woman. This is apparent in several of your off-season pics that can be found online. You have a nice signature pose that shows off your leg vascularity -- the split. Some other women do splits, of course, but not many have the veins on their calves and teardrops still popping out during the split, like yours do.

Subtle thing ... but a big visual effect.

After your next show, you could get together with Gene or Tom Nine and take some of those super-detailed black-and-white shots -- which have a tendency to make a model's skin look extra thin (see TomNine's shots on page 1 of this thread). Plenty of extra detail and vascularity would be apparent.

See it's just like I said, that Women Bodybuilders (especially the Hardcore kind) & Fitness Women look their best when they're most Beautifully Vascular & Ripped to Shreds.

That is an off season look too! While she was in town I introduced her to a very prestigious talent agency called Def Con 5 which represents body builders and fitness competitors. They signed her up. There is a good possibility that we may be seeing her on tv and in the movies in the near future.

I am the one that took that photo. When, I first met Jennifer, I noticed that she looked like Ocean Bloom and was following a similar career path to Ocean Bloom's. I mentioned this to Jennifer. When she met the staff at Def Con 5, the staff there agreed that she was following a career path similar to Ocean's and they were impressed with her. Ocean Bloom is also with Def Con 5 and works for them as a special skills actress.

I agree Remdog Vascular Women Bodybuilders and Fitness Women has most definitely got it going on. The more "Freaky Shredded Vascular Ripped" the FBB/Fitness Women's physique, the better. Gotta love the Contest Shape look on a Woman period instead of the overly huge massive bulky look that posters on this or other boards have stated.

She's a great call on your part. I can't get over just how thick her veins are. Amanda's a tiny woman, so to have swollen ropes like that all over her forearms and biceps is pretty striking. In other pics, she's also got great veins on her pecs, abdominals, and calves.

IIRC, at one time recently, she was contemplating a switch to bodybuilding. As far as muscular definition and vascularity goes ... she was already 3/4 of the way there if she jsut would've have come in in her fitness shape. Her pec striations are ridiculous.

You may want to start a new thread asking this question ... this thread is probably being regarded as a "schmoe thread" by competitors.

However -- visible vascularity doesn't hurt, or feel weird, or anything like that. They don't "crawl around" or anything ... they stay put. The veins feel (to the possessor) the same as they'd feel when covered with fat or subcutaneous water. For instance, if you were lying in bed, you wouldn't have the "Princess and the Pea" effect whenever you rolled over onto a veiny body part (like if you got your forearm under yourself, say).

From my point of view, for a fit women to develop visible vascularity is one of the most fetching visual results of any exercise/diet regimen. Even if you just increase your vascularity subtly - maybe having thickish veins on your hands and wrists, a little bit going on higher on the forearms and inner elbows, and some prominent veins on your feet and ankles -- you will notice that you're getting a LOT more attention paid to your body whenever you wear anything that shows off the vascularity.

I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but there's nothing wrong with Admiring vascularity on a FBB/Fitness Woman, because it baffles me that you have guys out there thinking that large humongous massive FBBs are a thing of Beauty. The same goes for guys that think that big fat flabby obese "no shape" Women thinking that's Beautiful is beyond me.

Don't get me wrong as a guy I admire Senusous Feminine Curves that is Symmetrically Proportionate on a Woman with some definition but for some reason in this country I would never thought that I lived to see the day that Fat is considered Beautiful (and I'm not refering to FBBs or Fitness Women in the off-season in which I have no problem with). A little "meat on the bones" doesn't hurt and I can be open-minded enough to accept A Female Bodybuilder or Fitness Woman in the off-season as equally as one in the last 2 months going into contest shape since muscle is leaner and heavier than fat.

But that's one of the reasons why I came out with this thread because I happen to find the Vascular Ripped contest shape look so Attractive and very Appealing. When I hear that term I think of Gollum from Lord of the Rings, lurking around in the shadows staring at the women (my precious muscle girl) and being creepy in general. Thanks Shadowman & Tripper for the 411 because it's one thing to like and admire the Ladies for all of the hard work that they've done in developing their physiques but at the same time also to have a reality check that they're human beings first and formost and realize that some folks have taken the "hero worshipping" too far and don't know when to turn it off. Even our favorite Women Bodybuilders & Fitness Women have also have to have a life.

I also want to thank Manuel for getting this thread going and the posititve motivation that's needed. If its one thing that I've learned, it's that just because you're a fan of the sport it doesn't mean that you have to take things too the extreme as some individuals have done with celebrities. As far as I'm concerned real life "Fatal Attractions" suck (and I'm not talking about the motion picture either) and they need to get a life.

"Schmoe" is a Yiddish word. It basically translates out to a person who acts foolishly. In bodybuilding context, a schmoe is someone who makes a fool out of themself by acting in a way that makes the person they're admiring feel embarrassed, and everybody watching the interaction feel embarrassed for them.

Not all bodybuilding fans are schmoes. The best way to avoid being labeled a schmoe is to treat bodybuilders like you'd treat anybody else. Bodybuilders are just regular ol people with bigger muscles. Fans can show their appreciation without fawning.

Up until recently that word "schmoe" was very foriegn to me as a person of the mainstream, let alone the history and meaning of the term because like I said I wasn't sure if being a schmoe was a good thing or a bad thing.

I wished that I've could've met her at the Arnold Fitness Weekend that would've been cool.

I've seen her guest pose at the 1999 Pro Worlds in the Detroit Suburb of Novi, Michigan and she was Smoking Hot back then as well. I love her "Freaky Shredded Vascular Ripped" Physique as well.
