Anybody know a cheap place that offers heavy dumbbells? I live in a small town and the gyms here have dumbbells that only go up to 100's. I started to use athletic tape to put plates on the dumbbells to make them heavier, but that only brings them up by like 20 pounds. I want to get a pair of 125's and 150's for my home gym because I know that the nearby gyms won't carry anything. Does anybody know where there are any good deals, and anything that has free shipping would be a huge plus as well. Thanks! :)

That would be awesome if you could find out! :D

I guess I would define cheap as 50 cent per pound or under. Thanks for the help Nida!!! :)

Joey, I might be able to help you. What is your home town and state?

There are some companies that offer free shipping, but I think the key idea is to shop for the best price per lb.

O.K. I'll use Pittsburgh Pa. as an epicenter and see what I can come up with? I'll also advise you to check out a website called www.usedgymequipment.com , but they are in L.A. and if you just want dumbells there should be somebody who can accomodate you nearby.

Here is a company -- Dumbbell Buddy (http://www.dumbbellbuddy.com/troy/troygrey_rubber_endcap2.html) -- that has dumbbells up to 150 lbs. that includes shipping in the cost. Hope it helps.

FreakShow, that site is awesome, thanks for the find!!!!!! I checked out the Hex section and and it was about 100 less then but only went up to 120s. I think I will just go with that dumbbell and hit high reps until I move away, then I can find a gym that has bigger dumbbells.

Did you know that it was like 40 degrees in PA this week, I am going to move by the end of summer, I hate the cold! I was thinking Flordia, Georgia, or South Carolina, and on my lists of priorities is to find a good gym! Once again thats for finding that website FreakShow! :D :D :D

I could not find anything bigger than the 120 lbers with the Hex, but I could get some 105's and 115 lb'ers since I don't have those weights.

Okay we ordered our dumbells straight from Nebula. I'm not sure how much we paid though.
