Angie gave it to me herself if I recall correctly. I wear a Large t-shirt (unless I'm on a bulking cycle of course)...

Hans... the word yesterday was there wasn't much competition at the show as far as FBBing. The local and national qualifier shows havent showed much up and comers yet this year... I think the problem is, most women are already on the national level.

That sucks... a lot of women that have won that show in the past have gone on to do great at national level - Lora Ottenad and Sheila Bleck to name just two.

The Emerald Cup is a good show with a long-standing tradition of great champions, but it is pretty regional to the Northwest and in the springtime. Let us see what women come out of the other geographical regions' local shows this summer?

The Emerald Cup is the best IFBB/NPC show of the year, period.

I think normally it might be Tre, not sure what happened this year... You didn't go this year did you?

The Southern States is also a great show and has produced many great fbb's...

Sweet, yeah the fBBs were down as a whole this year, which means next year all the ones who didn't do it this year will be inspired to get on stage and we'll have a nice crop of new faces hopefully :)

Overall all it was a great show, although I don't agree with some of the fitness and figure placings. I can't wait to see what goes down at the National shows I am sure it will be exciting. DQ it is your time to Shine !!! :D

I agree with Tre. The E-cup, hands down is THE show to do. Brad and Elaine Craig are amazing promoters and take such good care of their competitors. They always bring in National/Pro level judges to this show as well, so it's great exposure. However, the numbers in female bb'ers was down as well as the quality, which is unfortunate. I do think it has something to do with a lot of the up and comers being qualified for the national level and the vets that need to re-qualify have focused on their personal lives this year instead of competing. However, the men's classes were insane. There were big classes with big boys and the top five in every class brought their A-game.

cool, I've always just wanted to go to the Emerald, I have a few gals I know that have turned pro from there!!.
We don't have much of an Expo but the Contra Costa is a very good Cali show held in a couple weeks.

Since I pay money for tickets to attend shows, the Contra Costa you mentioned gets a failing grade of "F" for overall value, while the Emerald Cup gets an "A+".

Even when the quality of competitors may be down, so to speak, I am always guaranteed to have a good time and to be entertained at the Emerald Cup. The difference between the Cup and the CC is like the difference between night and day. The Emerald Cup is one of the few shows each year where fans are actually welcome, and as a result, it's consistently the largest NPC of the year (bigger than Nationals, when you compare attendance).

There's a lot to be said for treating people well, which is what Brad & Elaine Craig have always done. Over 90% of the other promoters out there would do well to take a little trip to Bellevue to see how it's really done.

You nailed that one Tre. I sure missed you there this weekend! The CC is a great show as far as the quality of the competitors go, but last year they wouldn't even let photographers in to shoot stage photos. What was that all about?

Oh yeah, if you wanna see some of the other excellent athletes at the show, check out James' WWC report (the internet went down at the hotel during the broadcast so he posted some shots from it - the show must go on!)
