Hey there,
Wow, thanks for all the compliments :) This will be my third year competing and have two comps under my belt. I did one competition a year and was very fortunate enough to win both of them. Currently I am at the CBBF National level figure level. My next competition will be the Canadian Nationals, July 1st (edmonton, Alberta) and I'm hoping to qualify there in order to compete at the North Americans in September.

I'm just now checking out this thread. And Lori ann welcome to the forums.
I'll have to agree with Amanda, Hans and Melody that you would make a Beautiful Bodybuilder if you so choose. Most likely either a Lightweight or a Middleweight for sure. You have a Good upper body but you'll probably have to build up your lower body. But other than that, the package looks Good. Major Props to your trainer.

Thanks for the welcome and all the compliments on my physique :) My trainer (Darrin Robinson) really focuses on symetry and defining muscle groups. We've been working on my legs during my off season....and I think they've improved......????? we'll just have to wait for another month or so to find out.

Has your prep already started in earnest ... or do you get ready over a shorter period of time? Seems your body type leans down fast -- but then, only so much can be determined through pictures.

Hey, yes I've already started and i'm 4 weeks into it:) Usually i do a 12 week prep but this year i want to make sure i'm in the best shape possible when i walk on stage so i'm taking 16 weeks to diet down.
Andy just put up a page for me on his site and it has a different video clip than the one that i posted here-some of the pics i've already posted on this board but there are a couple new ones, check it out anyway:)http://www.amg-lite.com/lori-ann_redding
Again, thank you for all you support and in July and hopefully Gene will get some great shots of me at the Nationals:)

If this is a stupid question Lori-Ann, then I apologise! But I know nothing about how a physique athlete prepares for a competition, and find it all very interesting!
When you say you are "preping" for a competition, what do you mean?
Does that mean you have started your diet? Also, what do you eat when dieting? Is it any different to the things I eat when dieting (all the time!) like salad, chicken, baked potatoes etc?
Again, I apologise if you have answered this a thousand times, but it really intrigues me!
Thanks
FMF :)

No need to appologize...:) Not a stupid question at all! Many people ask me that very question and just because there are lots of gorgeous woman athletes on on the internet-- we are still a minority in society.
My diet is clean all year, however in the off season I don't count my calories and have more frequent cheat days. Now that i'm "prepping" I clean up my diet and stick to the stats that are prepared for me..each meal is weighed and eaten at specific times. The only time is stray from this routine occurs when i have a cheat meal on Sunday night. My diet consists of lean protein (chicken, tuna, shakes, eye of round, ect.) complex carbs (oats, whole grain rice & pasta, bran, pumpernickle bread, squash, ect) and healthy fats (flax oil, coconut oil, hempseed oil, almonds, udo's oil, cla ect) and veggies. All my food is low GI except for after my workout.
hope that give you a little insight into my world:)

Thanks so much Lori-Ann, very interesting!
I didn't realise it was quite so complicated, weighing meals and eating at certain times of the day. Why do you weigh your meals?
I think carbs are good for energy, so I pressume you eat these before a workout, correct me if I'm wrong!
Also, what do you eat when you have your cheat meal on a Sunday, is it a big slice of cheescake?! :)
Thanks again for answering my question!
FMF.

My diet is very strict and that is the main reason why I don't have to do any cardio during my "onseason" I would rather eat a few less cals than get up and kill myself on the treadmill. But thats just me, If i can sleep in, i will:--i'm a little lazy, lol.
For my cheat meals, i'll eat whatever i'm craving..a couple weeks ago I had pizza and last week I just had (after my swiss chalet dinner) donuts and cookies. I like to have my cheat meal on Sunday so my glycogen (energy) stores are nice and full so I can train my legs on mondays:) Also, yes i do eat carbs before and after a workout:)
