With the competitive season starting up, I just wanted to get some discussion going about the national-level light-heavyweight class. I know we've said this every year since the creation of the class after 2003 Nationals, but the light-heavyweight class seems to get more and more competitive every year.

After wowing everyone at Nationals in Atlanta last year, Debi Laszewski should be back either at the USA in Vegas or Nationals in Miami. Elena Seiple could be back as well. Kristy Hawkins took 4th in Atlanta in the best shape of her life and is constantly improving, as are Nicole Berg and Jodi Coy. Also add to that list 2005 USA middleweight champion Britt Miller who will be competing as a light-heavy at Nationals and is really hitting her peak. Can't wait...

Don't forget Dr. Michele Neil - I'm not sure if/when/where she may be competing this year, but she won my award for most photogenic at the 2005 Jr Nationals.

Hey Mark000, I agree with you that the Light-Heavyweight class has become a fan favorite in the last couple of years, plus I wished that they would have multiple weight classes (3 or 4 classes including the overall champion) in the pros for both Men & Women Bodybuilders.

But just to get back on the subject I'm looking for Christine Moore to kick butt and do good at the IFBB North Americans and Debi Laszewski or Kristy Hawkins to dominate the Nationals in the Light-Heavyweights and Jody May to do Excellent in the Heavyweights. As far as the USAs are concerned I could only think of either Britt Miller, Cindy Johnson, Debbie Bramwell.

At the Jr. Nationals I got my money riding on Amy Schmid since I saw her won locally here in Detroit over at the NPC Motor City (Formerly Known As NPC Central States) at the Redford Theater as a Middleweight before she moved up to the Light-Heavies at the 2005 North Americans the following month.

Other than that in my opinion both the Middleweights and Light-Heavyweights are going to dictate where Women's Bodybuilding's going to be headed in the next couple of years: The Cory/Lenda/Juliette/Valentina look. Just my 2 cents.

I also forgot to give some Major props to Melissa Dettwiller (Buffdoll here at the forums) her Light-Heavyweight physique's got it going on as well and very senuous and feminine at the same time as well as Shannon Young from the Body Tech Crew in Oklahoma I think she may move up from the Middleweights to the Light-Heavies, for the Nationals this fall but I'll have to find out.

And I cannot forget Alicia St. Germaine, another Beautiful Light-Heavyweight that's ready for the pros. Light-Heavyweights definitely rules in Bodybuilding for sure.

Another LHW who is right up there is Christine Sabo. :star:

The first shots of her I saw a couple of years ago were not very expressive,
but she has become comfortable in front of the camera and is now TOTALLY DEVASTATING,
a fantastically hott poser with an awesome complete physique from top to toe! :p

I agree with you Mark000 100% but since a good number of us of here at FTV do not have any membership over at HerBiceps none of us are able to get a good up close view of the photos without a membership just like over at Diana The Valkerie.

But other than that I love Christine's physique she's got it going on and I would love to see her win her class and turn pro real soon because she's most definitely Ms. International and Ms. Olympia material period.

Thanks Mark 000!!! That's the the look & conditioning that Christine needs to win her class, the overalls and turn pro. The look that she posessed at the 2004 Jr. Nationals & USAs as well as the 2005 USAs is the type of physique that's needed to win.

Somemore to look out for in my opinion is Heidi Gay and Mark do you know if Heather Lee will be competing this year or is she doing powerlifting? I would love to see Heather finally getting that IFBB pro card that she deserves.

I wondered if many people believe this is the best weight class in the amateur ranks?
