Hey all!!! I just need advice and direction from anyone :-( I'm been working out now for about 10 years, I'm 24 now, and my life long dream has been to compete. Problem is I have no idea where I should start, or how for that matter. I always felt I had excellent size for a female, until I got on here, now I'm not so sure anymore, lol. If anyone could possibly guide me through this. I'm just uncertain of how big I should get before I start dieting, if I'm big enough to even consider competing, i just.....i'm lost, ha. And now that I moved to Naples and know absolutely noone, I'm even more in a bind. I at least had a few connections back home, but am starting all over it seems down here. Please help, I've wanted to do this for as long as I can remember.

Thanx, Erin

Thanx, Erin THERE ARE ALOT OF WOMEN ON HERE THAT CAN BE CONSIDERED EXPERTS IN WHAT YOU ASK,,BUT I WOULD THINK THAT FOR THESE EXPERTS TO INDEED TO HELP IN PART ANSWERING YOUR INQUIRY YOU SHOULD FIRST POST A PIC OF YOURSELF TO SHOW THEM THE LEVEL AT WHICH YOU ARE CURENTLY SO THEY MAY GAGE YOUR MUSCULARITY'S STANDING THUS AS WOULD REGARD TO YOUR PREPPING FOR A FUTURE COMPETITION!!!! THOUGH I MYSELF HAVE NEVER COMPETED IN A BODYBUILDING BUT HAVE KNOWN MANY WHO HAVE BOTH MALE AND FEMALE,YOUR RENDERING THE PHOTOS OF YOUR PHYSIQUE AS IT IS NOW WILL GREATLY ASSIST THOSE WOMEN THAT POSESS MORE THAN ADEQUITE AND THOSE OF VAST EXPERIENCE IN COMPETITIVE BODYBUILDING TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS!!!!!! I WISH YOU WELL IN YOUR BODYBUILDING ENDEAVORS!!!!!! AT ANY STAGE OF YOUR SIZE AND DEVELOPMENT THUS FAR,,YOU SHOULD INDEED STEP UPON STAGE AT SOME POINT TO COMPETE IF INDEED TIS YOUR GREAT DREAM!!!! IN MY OPINION THAT IS AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE IN REPPING YOURSELF WITH KNOWLEDGE AND FURTHER TRAINING "THERE'D BE NOTHING TO IT BUT TO JUST DO IT"!!!!!!!!!! (PEACE....................GREG,SHADOWMAN)

Welcome Erin, if you've been training for that long pretty hard core, you must have some good size. Why not post a shot of yourself so we can see what you've got - it's hard to tell otherwise. There are a lot of local shows you can check out too to see what the competition looks like. Are you in Naples, FL?

maybe this one's better, Oh and yes I'm in Naples, FL, just moved down here from around Panama City. Just couldn't leave Florida :)WOW!!!!! WELL FROM WHAT I SEE,,YOU'RE CERTAILY STARTING FROM A VERY GOOD STANDING OF MUSCULATURE!!!!! I DEFINITELY SEE YOU GAINING PROMONANCE IN COMPETITION AS WELL AS IN THE OTHER ASPECTS OF BEING IN THE MUSCLE-LIME LIGHT!!! YOU LOOK MOST EXCEPTIONAL IN SIZE AND MUSCULARITY!!!!!!!!!! PREPPING FOR A COMPETITION SHALL SURELY BRING OUT A LOOK THAT SHALL CAPTIVATE EVERYONE LOOKING UPON YOU ON STAGE,,IN MY OPINION!!!!!!! THOUGH YOUR PICS ARE AS YOU'D SAID AS FAR AS PROFESSIONALISM,,THEY STILL RENDER A GREAT ACCOUNT OF YOUR HARD TRAINING AND ITS YIELD!!!!!! YOU'RE GENETICS HAS BRAUGHT YOU FAR CLOSER THAN YOU MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT TO GAINING THE CONDITIONING FOR A GREAT BODIFULLY MUSCULAR REPRESENTATION IN A COMPETITION!!!!!! AGAIN,WOW,,YOU LOOK SIMPLY FANTASTIC ALREADY!!!!! GREAT MUSCLE-BEAUTY INDEED,,SOLID HARD POWERFUL LOOKING MUSCULARTURE!!!!!!! YOU CERTAINLY HAVE NOT BEEN SLACKING ON THE TRAINING DURING THOSE YEARS!!!!!! I'D SAY GOOD LUCK TO YOU BUT I'D SUSPECT THAT LUCK HAS BEEN EXCEEDINGLY BORED WHERE YOUR EFFORTS HAVE BEEN CONCERNED,,FOR WITH SUCH GLORIOUS GENETIC CRAFTING ABILITY AS YOU'VE GOT,,LUCK SIMPLY SHALL HAVE NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH IT BUT REMAIN A SILENT WITNESS TO EXCELLENCE PROCEEDING WITHOUT IT!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for the awesome replies and compliments ;-) It's hard to find people these days that actually appreciate hard work and discipline. So thank you again. I know I have a long way to go though, but I'm looking forward to it. :sprite10:

Just remembered...

Matt DiRenzo promotes the Gulf Coast Championships in Ft. Meyers (right near you). I did a guest appearance there last year with Elena Semple (She's awesome!!). There were quite a few female bodybuilders from that area who were in the show. I think that there are quite a few competitive girls down in that area. You may want to look up Matt through the show and find out where they train.

Welcome to the board Erin! You definitely look like you're ready to start competing.

Like Shannon said, there are a lot of female competitors near the Naples area that could help you. As well as Matt and Beverly DiRenzo who Shannon mentioned, Amanda Dunbar (http://www.amandad.com) lives in Fort Myers too, but not for much longer. She knows everyone though and should be able to put you in touch with other people in that area who can help you get started.

Good luck!

Hans
