View Full Version : Thoughts on becoming a Maven

Apparently with my 100th post I was elevated to "Maven" status. I had no idea what this was so I looked it up to find it meant one who is experienced or knowledgeable. In cyber speak this probably means one who is badly in need of a hobby. But for whatever reason I am always drawn back to this forum. Maybe its the man himself Genex, the creator who has put together the most impressive forum on the net. Maybe its the photogs like James, Andy, TomNine and Tre who are doing the job we all wish we had. Perhaps its the unbridled enthusiasm of femalemusclefan or the passion of cbdetroit the "threadstarter". Maybe its the challenge of dusting off the thesaurus in an attempt to INTELLECTUALLY ACQUIRE AND AUTHENTICATE THE PROPHETIC ALBEIT CAPS INTENSIVE MUSINGS OF SHADOWMAN. Maybe its the sense of cyber family I get as we share the triumphs like Amanda's big win at the USAs, the controversies like whether Elena deserved to win, and the tragedies like the fall of Craig and Kelly. Maybe its sending PMs to the ladies and finding out that not only do most of you graciously answer (those of you who don't know who you are!!LOL) but that you turn out to be witty intellegent down to earth folks like the rest of us (imagine that). Perhaps its conversing with the ladies who like to get down and dirty with their fans like herculizaah, azianfigure, darla benfield and muscles 1976. Maybe its the calm voice of reason and experience from rpflex and Michelle Brent who have given so much to the sport. Or wondering if old friends will ever return like Caljoe, bodybuilderbeth, captainamerica, and buffdoll (where you been sweetie??) Perhaps the confrontations of amadgenius who would pick a fight with Santa Claus for coming down the chimney wrong (is that beard real Santa?). Maybe its to see if my personal fav Amanda Dunbar has poked her head in the door or maybe its the dozens of other beautiful women on this forum that make [IMG]having a favorite seem ridiculous. Perhaps its the contributions of friends from around the world like Alexander or Manuel or the always welcome newbies who bring fresh thoughts into the forum. Or maybe its just the dancing banana!!
I really don't know why I keep coming back but I will say this. Chatting with you all beats the hell out of collecting stamps. Thanks to everyone, you all rock, nothing but love, and LET'S KEEP THE PARTY ROLLING!!

Perhaps its the unbridled enthusiasm of femalemusclefan.

Thanks Tripper, you have just made my day! :)
I am a member of another female muscle message board (Herbiceps.com) but I hardly ever post there anymore. It's choc full of negativity and name calling. I visit this site everyday, and it is always a pleasure, never a chore!
I don't think there is anywhere else on the internet, where you can communicate with so many talented and beautiful athletes, photographers and fans!

Long may it continue!

Always enjoy your posts. One day I will scoop you on the new picts from gene's site!! Quick question. How do you get that dancing banana to attach to your post? I wanted to add that at the end of mine and could not figure it out.

When you reply or start a post, there is a big panel on the right with a load of smilies. Right at the bottom it says More Click that and a pop-up window will display a few more smilies. Scroll down until you see the little fellow, click on him, then click Close This Window. He will then appear in your post. Viola!
