View Full Version : Just an idea...

Regarding the new format and the new forums, I was wondering if there would be any way to have a forum category for aspiring FBBs like myself to ask more experienced FBBs questions about training, diet, contest prep, etc. Not sure if they are interested in providing advice, but I would sure appreciate it! I got some great advice from Sheila and others when I posted a thread about getting better leg separation.

Just an idea, while the forums are expanding...

I have wondered about this, too...I know there are boards out there with a lot of training advice but to hear from some of the women on this board that we look at in pics all the time would be awesome! :)

great idea - actually we were thinking this too. we'll set one up for training & diet questions.

also, would you be interested in advice on posing? I was thinking of gathering some posing tips from top national-level and pro fbbers and turn them into an article.

Cool, yeah this was one of the categories we were thinking of but thought it might not have enough traction at the start. :)

Posing advice would be great too! Anything to help us aspiring FBBs out!

OK for now I've adjusted the competition topic to include contests and prep and training. If we need to break it out further in the future we can.

ripitupbaby, why don't you post a thread in there asking a few questions to get things started there?

Thanks Gene!

I am 2 weeks out from my first BB show and I have a figure show in one week, so I am a little reluctant to seek any specific advice right now (I am a little frazzled), but I may resurrect my leg separation thread once I take some pics this weekend and see how my legs are shaping up.

And I am sure that I'll have plenty of things to seek help/advice on in the future!

Interesting post!
I didn't know you could compete in both Bodybuilding and Figure.
No wonder you feel a little frazzled!

Good luck for both competitions ripitupbaby! :)

Well, I'm not sure if you really can compete in both, but I am going to try!

I tend to come in pretty hard for figure comps, so I am trying a BB show one week later to test the waters and see if I enjoy it.
It's a small local show, probably only 4-6 FBBs in all, I would expect. I'm more focused on figure this year, but I'm sure that I will be headed to BB full time one of these days.
Looking forward to it!

Thanks!

HA, we'll see - this will be my first BB competition ever in two weeks. I think that I am going to enjoy it very much too.
I can tell you that I feel more comfortable, personally, in the BB poses than the figure poses, which may seem a little weird. I had to practice those figure poses forever, the BB poses came more naturally! I'm a little nervous about the BB routine, at least it doesn't count for anything though!

Let me be the first to wish you all the best and good luck for your competition in two weeks! :carrot:

Don't be nervous about the bodybuilding routine, I'm sure you will bring the house down! :)

That's exciting! I wish you much good luck! Don't worry about the night show routine, if you lose your place, the people in the audience won't know it wasn't what you meant to do.... just keep moving!

I still have trouble with nerves after 10 years but it helps me to have a couple of flowing posing sequences that I know inside and out tucked away in my brain so that if I get lost, I can run through them while giving myself a little time to chill out and try to remember! The anxiety trigger seems to be the "what if I forget", so if you know you have a trick to pull out of your sleeve, there aren't any "what if I can't remember" consequences.

Besides, if you're naturally already more comfortable with the BB poses vs. figure turns you'll ROCK! Be sure to let us know how you do :)
