I'm saving it! I got a late start on my new fitness routine - only got it 3 weeks ago - so I need that extra month to have it perfect by Team U. By the way, congrats on a great showing at Jr USAs! What's next for you?

Thanks! It WOULD have been a great showing if I hadn't tried to compete injured...pulled my right hamstring one week out! But, I'm trying to recover.

If I make a full recovery and am feeling 100%, I'm competing at Jr Nats. Otherwise, I won't be onstage again until Team U!

Well you had no problems in the physique rounds! Injuries in our sport suck! I read about yours on another board. Hope you get over it soon and good luck with your prep!

Thanks Sandi! Yep, I'm exactly where I want to be. I'll be in better condition than I was at Nationals, get judges' feedback on that and plan accordingly for Team U. Only 4 more weeks to go - hang in there and cross your fingers for no more injuries!

Just wanted to let anyone who is going to Juniors about a great club to go after-if you are in the mood. I've been there once (pre-diet), it is a newer club and I had a great time. It's called Enclave (www.enclavechicago.com) and is downtown. I emailed the manager earlier tonight asking to let competitors in free and I will keep everyone updated when I get a response.

Hopefully we can get free admission and I will see a lot of you out. I'm just hoping things go well at Jr's and I am in the mood to party! Regardless of Enclave Nida, definitely give me a call I would love to see you.

As far as my suits, I just got new ones last week for Jr's from Crystal-they are stunning!

On a "non food porn fest" note, I am feeling great about the show. I will be coming in at my heaviest weight and best condition. If you saw me at Fitness Nationals 2005 in Atlanta, I've put on 4 lbs. of muscle and will be 2% leaner for Juniors. I plan on coming in at 138 lbs. (I'm 5'7").

So far I'm impressed with how one of my Hero Melissa Dettwiller (aka Buffdoll) is looking so far I wish her all the best in the Light-Heavyweight Class this weekend.

She's the future of this sport and in my opinion a Future Ms. International & Ms. Olympia. Plus her "Freaky Shredded" Symmetry is among the elite in the sport today. Good Luck Mel from your "Motor City" fan.:dj_spnnin :)

Sounds familiar from '04 Nats where they did the same thing to Robin. Sucks, but the judges are certainly sticking to their guns when it comes to extreme conditioning. Why did Robin bring her in as such when she knows how the tides have turned? Robin is the bomb when it comes to contest advising, just curious about this one.

Sounds familiar from '04 Nats where they did the same thing to Robin. Sucks, but the judges are certainly sticking to their guns when it comes to extreme conditioning. Why did Robin bring her in as such when she knows how the tides have turned? Robin is the bomb when it comes to contest advising, just curious about this one.

Julia is not in the same conditioning that Robin was in at the '04 Nationals. She's very lean, but nowhere out of the ordinary to what has been winning the pro-qualifying shows. My opinion as it has been from when Julia started this prep... I wish she would have just gone straight to the Nationals instead of wasting her time, killing herself doing a 2-day show for no reason. She would not get penalized (IMO) on a pro-qualifying stage. She is definitely not in extreme condition, although looks damn good...

Robin definitely did not kill her with a diet... Julia is very lean year round and has great genetics to be so lean. She didn't lose very much weight dieting throughout this entire contest prep.

Some people are very gifted with being so lean. I'm not one of them. haha.

Go Julia and David! I'm very proud of you guys! Julia, you looked amazing so far in the pics I've seen and from what I've heard from people there... be very happy! :)

Mary Jo Cooke looks to stand a great chance of winning her pro card here - color looks great, nice shape and very good conditioning.

Buffdoll looks to have brought her legs and upper body in better proportion and looks very good on stage. Nice work Mel.

if still meaning julia stamper in the heavies, there were not "callouts" for the class, there were only 6 girls and they just switched the line around........moving ( I think.....cant' remember exactly) #36 and 40 so me and 40 putting me by julia, then me and 39 putting me next to kris..........i believe that was the only "movement"

julia is a fantastic athlete, I know she is disappointed---who wouldnt be? I agree she needs to do a "bigger show" after this one, she is FAR too good to quit competing

I do apologize if it hurt anyones feelings, it wasn't intended to in any way. I know everyone worked very hard to get in shape for this show, just like every show... That's a given! I myself competed at the 2004 Jr Nationals and WAS NOT in shape, and did not come in even close to what my mind invisioned. I know how it is, so I'm not saying anything that I haven't done myself in the past?

I do feel Julia's conditioning far outweighed all other competitors I have seen, thus far from this show. I'm very curious to see how the judging goes this evening.

I think most women go into a show trying to get as lean as possible to make sure they are ready to step on stage. IMO, Julia showed up IN SHAPE... maybe she should have just waited til Nationals? A lot of people are curious as to what's going to happen in the HWT class tonight due to the call outs in the other classes leaning more towards the leaner females. Some think Julia and Michelle are 1st and 2nd so they put them at the end of the line up, but the vast majority here are saying that they are too hard (this has came from spectators, athletes, photographers, and State Chairman) and are being penalized. I guess time will tell.

Just got back from the show. The women's BB had a smaller but very good quality turnout.

The LHW was won by Theresa Hendricks. Melissa Detweiller got 3rd. Tracy Mason won the MW and Rita Kaya got 2nd in the MW. Can't rememeber other placings though and I didn't stay for the overall so you have to wait for the man GeneX to update you all! (Figure was interspersed before the Overall)

Thanks for the kind words, Gina. Julia wanted to come into this contest in the best possible condition. My first obligation is to my client. If they have a clear idea of how they want to look, I do my best to help them achieve that. Julia's priority was great conditioning and she achieved her goal admirably.

I am so proud of Julia. I think she looked fantastic and she was simply outside her league (in a good way) at this show. I think the Jr level shows are for women with only a few years of training under their belts... or so it seems. I had a feeling things would turn out this way based on last years outcome and encouraged Julia to wait for Nationals. Hopefully, she'll decide to do so if not this year, then next.

Hello everyone. First let me say thank you for all the kind words. A big thank you to Robin for all of your help. Robin helped me come into this show exactly how I wanted to. I wanted to be as big and lean as I could and I came in in the best shape of my life. So it was a personal victory for me even if the judges didn't see it that way.

Here is what Sandy Ranalli told me about the whole womens class. She did say that I had the best conditioning of any of the females. She said I was probably the hardest and leanest female but that that is not what the NPC is looking for. She said I had too much muscle, I was too hard, and my mid section was too blocky. She said the NPC wants to see girls that are softer, smaller (aka the 20% rule), and "fuller" or less conditioned.

So, I'm not sure that what the NPC wants is really how I want to look but you know it's their baby.
To all the girls who placed my congrats to you all. Enjoy your time in the spotlight everyone deserves a little of that.

Can't wait to work with Gene and the other photographers it should be fun. Not sure what I'm going to do now. I like the way that I look and if that is not what is wanted maybe I'll just wait and see what the NPC decides to look for next year. Once again thank you all for the kind words.

I swear when I was watching TV the other night I saw a flash of a figure competition. But it was on some reality show. I think it was on CBS or ABC. Can't really remember. Did anyone else see it?

:wtf: I saw the commercial for it last night on CBS. I have no idea who that chic was. I tried looking it up on cbs.com show title Tuesday Night Book Club. I still didn't know who it was. Let me know if you find out. That's cool to get some figure exposure. By the way, who is Juan Carlos?

I think its wonderful that women were awarded for still looking like women. I love all aspects of bb...including freaking ripped shredded muscle, but i still want feminine lines, and a curvy look. I was complimented all weekend on my physique, and for petite bb female, this is a breath of fresh air! maybe this will keep woemn in bb, instead of switching to figure, since many of us want to keep the feminine lines mother nature intended.
I understand your intentions in this post, but I think you should be careful not to insult some of your fellow competitors. I sometimes find that some competitors that seem so "feminine" are not really as feminine as some other competitors that are deemed to be not so feminine.

I just wanted to congratulate all the ladies on their spectacular showing at the Jrs. I know it is a lot fo work and dedication to get on stage...my hats off to you all!

It was a pleasure meeting some of you and re-meeting others from last year!!

Gene, thanks for the great coverage. this is the first time I have been able to SEE how things looked from stage. You guys jnow tht once they get me backstage...I NEVER GET OUT!!!! So although you all lok great back there I never get a chance to see you compared. It's awesome for me to get on line to see what it all looked like!
Remember, no matter how things turn out at the end if you are happy with your journey and feel you did your best, that is all that matters...you are all champions for reaching your goal!!!!

What a great weekend!! I'm so proud of my girls ...Indiana Girls....Heather and Jessie, and Julia ....Heather 2nd place in the heavies and Jessie Wright 2nd in Figure D...missing 1st place by ONE point!!! And Julia, you were in UNBELIEVABLE shape!!! and i know what it's like with the judges...just keep the positive attitude!!!

I met soooo many great girls this weekend.....Thanks and good job to everyone!!!!

oh, and the shoes....their my stylish friends....but they are BCBG and I believe from Nordstrom's!! thanks for all the compliments!!!!!

Thank you Jennifer. I know the judges didn't like what I brought to the table but overall it ended up being a positive weekend. I have had so many people (spectators, photographers, state chairman, and competitors) come to me personaly and tell me that they really didn't agree with my placing and have encouraged me to go on to the national level. I had a couple of really nice photo shoots with some magazines and Gene among others. As I said before I came in the best shape I could and I'm happy with that. Thanks again.

As far as I could tell you have a 100% Top Quality "World Class" Pro Physique. And the "Motor City" fan LOVES what he sees. I hope that your doing either the North Americans or the Nationals this fall because you would most definitely dominate the competion.
