I used one this past weekend at a show. First time I really tried a dieuretic and I think it helped dry me out a little but I wasn't overly impressed. I used the Vitamin shoppe brand with those ingredients.

As far as how I water depleted-2 Gallons from Thursday to Thursday before show, Friday up to 1 Gallon stopping all water 12 hours before I would be on stage. I took 1 dose Friday afternoon (like 4 pills) and 1.5 dose Friday evening...be careful though because most contain caffeine. Then I did 1 dose Saturday morning.

This time around I probably won't do it the same way-I almost feel like it flattened me out. I may try 1-1.5 dose Friday evening and maybe Sat morning depending on how I look. Sorry this isn't more helpful but I have only tried it once.

I have used a combination of Dandelion Root, potassium, and B6 before but that is only for a 2 day show where I need to stay dry over time. And I did not use a lot...like one dose. But I am smaller, very lean and sometimes struggle to stay full so I don't dry out too hard. I have to say, the effects after being that dried out for 2 days are not fun...I get headaches. And of course the cotton mouth and dry eyes. Ick!

It sounds like you ladies push your body's to the limit!
I have big respect for that, I really don't know how you do it! :)

There certainly is a science to it!! My trainer has everything timed down to the minute...and it is soooo cool to see your body change by so quickly. Mine changes every hour before a show.

But I am fortunate that my coach puts our health above all else---not all of them do. We do push ourselves to the limit but naturally and without risking our overall health. I have seen girls pass out backstage and get sick and thankfully none of my teammates has ever had that happen. The first thing we are asked is "How are you feeling"...I think that is a good sign :)

This is really fascinating!
It what way does it change?

Thanks Becky! :)

I think that dandelion root works great. I don't like to use too much either, so I prefer to use just the dandelion root (http://www.seacoastvitamins.com/product_info.php?products_id=1930), as opposed to some of the herbal formulas that also contain additional herbs in them. The dandelion root alone is a little more mild than some of those herbal combinations, but find that it works very well to lose excess water, and know of many people who also attest to this. I would definitely give it a try and see if it works for you.
