Who do you all prefer to buy from, wholesale camera dealers such as www.keh.com or other sources?

I think I've only purchased one new piece of camera equipment, which was from B&H in 1990. Everything else has been purchased used or borrowed from various sources. Oh wait, do batteries count? I've purchased those new from Amazon shopping.

We buy lots of stuff from B&H and Adorama. We've had great service with both of those. The local places here seem to give us attitude so we don't like to shop there.

Hey Gene!

Just wondered if the kind of lighting equipment you used for this shot was easy to find or access?

I bought my camera in excellent used condition from a couple who own a camera store here. I have known them for about 16 years. My lenses I bought new from 2 camera stores I frequent. The reason is if I have a problem or questions I can ask because I am a paying customer.

B&H has a great rep and I know others who shop through there.

Hi Eddie, that's just one light with a gel on it. So very easy to do. I will try and shoot the setups when I do shoots in my studio if you want in the future to show how the lighting is set up.

My first call is Competitive Cameras (http://competitivecamera.com/) in Dallas, Beau Photo Supply (http://beauphoto.com/) in Vancovuer BC, and Pro Photo Supply (http://prophotosupply.com/) and Citizens Photo (http://www.citizensphoto.com/) in Portland.

I like to buy from local, independant dealers as much as I can. I hate the Wal-Martization of America and refuse to buy from chains such as Wolf, Ritz, Shutterbug, Camera World, etc.

B&H and Adorama when necessary, occasionally Unique Photo, and Samy's as a last resort.
