Default Microsoft Windows 7

Hey James & Gene, for a long time I'm a Big Fan of Microsoft Windows Operating System and I wanted to ask either you 2, of what do you think about the New Operating System Windows 7 because I'm currently in the Market to Hopefully get a New Windows Media Center PC Hopefully over the Holidays and so far at the Stores as well as in the media (PC Magazine, etc...) that it's been given more Positive reviews than Windows ME & Vista.

Could you Guys let me know because I'm making sure that when I get My new PC I'll be getting Windows 7 installed along with firewalls, Anti-virus, Anti-spyware to keep Her going strong for the next couple of years. I've gotta get rid of My old Windows 98 PC for an upgrade Guys but what do you think Gene & James please let me know, thanks.

Yeah I agree that I heard from some one who's a Beta tester that the performance on Windows 7 was far superior to Vista, ME, 98, & 95.

I've gotten the opportunity to check out some of the new PCs at one of the local Consumer Electronic Stores here in Metro Detroit/Southeastern Michigan and Checked out a Brief Demonstration and from what I've seen, the New Windows 7 software has Good Potential. So I'm looking forward to Getting it & when I do get it, I'll be Happy To Let You know how it went.

I'm long overdue for a new PC. But even when that Happens, I'll have to Shop around for some Good Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware & Anti-Malware computer software as well.

If you, Gene or anyone else knows of some Good ones then give me a Holler. Those pop ups as well as those Spam messages or Hidden Viruses can get on a person nerves.

WOW!!!! James, based on what you're telling me, you're getting ready to Go Ballistic when you get the New PC. I'm so Happy for you Good Buddy!!

I'm Motivated as well to get a new PC, but from what I've understand that You would have to have your PC with those similar specs if you wanted to load them up with Microsoft Windows Vista.

I'm going to tell you just Like I've told a friend of the Family that when I've went to the Consumer Electronic Store, I was so Shocked when I've checked out one of (And either you, Gene, TomNine, TTTG or whomever who's into Hi Tech maybe familiar with this...) a 32GB USB Storage Unit that you could plug into your PC's Harddrive as well as an 8GB, 4GB & a 2GB USB storage unit.

But the most Shocking thing about it is that at the store I went to, the 32GB was listed in the range of $130-$140 range where as the 8GB, 4GB & the 2GB was listed way cheaper & more affordable than that.

Not to sound so stupid, I'm wondering why do some of the retailers out there want to charge so much for a Little rinky-dink small storage device?

I could go and purchase either CD Rom or DVD Rom If I'm that desparate to store stuff on and take with me on the Go. My Friend came by the House to use My PC to gather up some songs to store on his Mini USB storage port since He accidently erased some of the songs from His PC's hard drive.

Since then I was quite amazed by this and it sort of Peaked My interest in checking out the Mini USB Storage Data unit at the store. Like I've mentioned that maybe either you or the others might shed some Light on this Amazing little device. Beyond that I've been checking out somemore commercials on TV last Night while I was flipping channels between NBC's: The Biggest Loser & the Sci-Fi Remake of V on ABC as well as the Detroit Municipal Election Results on Tuesday Night. Please let me know.

I've known that folks including the folks over at Apple, Sun Microsystems, Linux, Oracle have been critical of Microsoft in the past but based on what I've witnessed over the weekend, it looks Like Bill Gates' & Steve Balmer's company has a sure fire winner on hand.

After Getting the New PC, then I'm curious to find out if Windows 7 could sync up with Microsoft's XBox or XBox 360? I can't wait to find out.

There are some 4TB and 8 TB external hard drives for sale now. Terrabytes that is not Gigabytes.

So what you're saying is that the Terrabytes (TB) would hold more storage data than both Gigabytes (GB) & Megabytes (MB) eh?

I was letting James know about the kind of storage units that's from 2GB-32GB that plug into your USB ports that's about the size of a key chain, that you could take with you anywhere as well as to be able to store any kind of data (documents for business, school, personal information, reports, documents), Audio tracks, Videos (Clips, Movies, Music Videos, TV shows or documentaries), etc.

And the unique thing about it is that you could plug it into either your desktop, laptop or tablet PC whether you're at Home, Work, School or away on Vacation out of town.

At the time when I've first found out about this technology, I'll admit that it was Mind-Blowing. When I do get the New PC with Microsoft Windows 7, I'll be Happy to look into making a purchase of the little storage units because My Friend has also told me is that for example if you were to go to a Municipal Public Library, you wouldn't be able to use an "old school" floppy disks (not the diskettes that came out later on in the early to Mid 1990s) to download & store any information.

But nowadays you'll have to do it with either CD/DVD Rom or the new "little" USB data storage plug in units to do the job. Again this is based on what He's told me from His experience since having my own PC that I don't have to necessarily have to go that route as far as dealing with Public Libraries unless it's necessary.

That's why it's Good to have your own Desktop, Laptop or Tablet PC with Hi-speed internet connection. But I've seen some external Hardrives at the store as well since they're used for mostly as a backup for storage just in case if your PC is over filled up & you need somemore space.

A terabyte is a trillion bytes, or a million megabytes, or 1,000 gigabytes, as measured by the hard-drive industry. (There are actually two conventions for calculating megabytes, but this is how the drive industry counts it.) As a reference, the print collection in the Library of Congress comes to about 10 terabytes of information, according to the How Much Information study from U.C. Berkeley. The report also found that 400,000 terabytes of e-mail get produced per year. About 50,000 trees would be necessary to create enough paper to hold a terabyte of information, according to the report.

What you are talking about are flash drives which is still good but hold far less storage. My Ex-girlfriend was talking about them in 2003.

Wow!! Ibarra now that the one on the bottom is what I was describing to James is what My Friend has brought over to the House to download his information to transfer back to His PC.

But the other storage units or back up Hard drives that you've shown right above the accompanied photo are similar to what I've seen at the store over the weekend. But I would guess that either way you would still have to from time to time to defragment your software so you clear more space for some infomation on your computer every once in awhile.

But also along with getting the New PC I'll have to get a hold of some new Anti-virus, Anti-spyware, Firewall as well as Anti-malware software to keep those knuckleheads from destroying the new PC.

This couple I know of had to take their PC to the shop for repairs because of those pesky viruses ruined their PCs performance. Plus for me I hate getting spam as well as those annoying pop-ups. It wouldn't suprise me if either you, James or Gene have to deal with that from time to time. I don't know but what gives? Please let me know. Other than that I'm looking forward to the day I get the new Microsoft Windows software.

Plus I'll have to get updates on Microsoft Word, Excell, Powerpoint, Outlook, Encarta as well as Corel's Word Perfect and other Goodies for the PC when that comes out as well.

Soooo glad I don't have to mess with Windows anymore. LOL I finally went to a MacBook Pro 17" and left Windows far behind in my life. )) I will never go back after having this only for 6 weeks. It is by far the fastest machine I have ever used.

Hey What's Up Doug, long time no see!! But as far as the 2-32 GB USB Flash Drives are concerned until recently it's still new to me but as someone once told me that "you're never too old to learn".

So I'm willing to learn more about the benefits of storing data, photos, videos & audio as well as the pros & cons with them. But beyond that right after seeing a Live (not recorded) demonstration of Windows 7, it will not be a Flop just Like Millenium Edition (ME), & Vista.

But it will be a More stable system just Like Windows NT for Business as well as Windows XP for both Consumers & Business. As far as the Mac's goes, their Greatest Strengths is within Graphic Arts as well as Music or Video Editing. But Beyond that it's a Windows PC world out there & Microsoft has stepped up their Game to have improved their software.

Besides Windows 7, I'm going to look out for updates on Microsoft Word, Excell, Encarta, Powerpoint, Corell Word Perfect as well as Anit Virus, Anti Spyware, Firewall & a Pop Up Blocker to put those annoying pop ups in check.

If anyone knows of any Good Firewalls, Anti-Spyware as well as Anit Virus then Holler because inquiring minds would Like to know.
